I've read this is a common problem but no one has a simple answer on what to fix.

Mine starts everytime no problem and after it warns up it idles perfectly and runs great!

When I hit a red light sometimes it starts white smoking. Sometimes a lot, sometimes hardly any and it doesn't always do it. Just smokes randomly when it wants.

Anyone point me in the right direction? It runs fine even as it smokes

Truck runs fine but smoke is embarrassing.

Here is a cold start
(I said no smoke but it give a lil puff I didn't see)

Just for the Two injectors alone. (no work)

So after 1300 no more rough startup. But still smokes just as much. The shop said im in no danger of piston melt but said the injector on #6 isnt looking to good and would be the next one I should replace.

Just had the oil changed and put 16oz of Diesel Kleen in the tank and filled up.

Bad thing is I went broke on this fix. I still have the truck payment and a wife/household to support.

Probably # 6 he was talking about. Just put 2 brand new ones in.

No coolant or oil problems.

I just cant afford to get another injector yet :/

white/grey smoke on these motors points to a bad injector most of the time. there is also the possibility of a blown head gasket. i would suggest having an oil analysis done, well worth the $25. you should buy your injectors from exergy performance in the future. should save you a good amount and ive never heard a complaint about them.

I had somewhat of the same problem. It started out as a misfire. Then went to knocking in the top end of the motor. I did a valve lash adjustment and the motor sounded so much better but it was still white smoking with a terrible terrible missing sound. It lost all power. I couldn't even drive it up on a trailer. I pulled all 6 injectors and crossover tubes, wouldn't believe it, they're all burnt up! If you do injectors go ahead and do a valve lash adjustment on it as well. Definitely good for the motor.
