Well, broke a valve spring bent a valve, replaced all springs and pushrods tick is gone.Thanks 3rd Strike.

tick is gone in my truck, but i also installed 6.1 springs/rods and a comp cam

I don't think I've ever heard the tick in mine.

my 05 had the hemi tick....so far i don't hear it on this truck, but she isn't even broken in yet

wow, another 2003 succumbs to the dreaded broken valve spring. you arent the first, and i doubt the last either. i dont have the tick in my 04. and im hoping to not need to replace springs/rods until a do a cam.

I also used the 6.1 springs huge visible dif. I think these did the job.Do you think the tick could be a broken spring that has not let go? Also when I tore it down it already had a 6.1 spring on 1 valve. Really; why the f.... would you not replace them all if you are already in this deep? DUH!!

should have put a comp 260 or 6.1 cam in the truck when you were replacing the springs

The 6.1 springs are a significant upgrade over stock, especially the 2003 springs. They are not the source of the tick, however.

Tell us more about your pushrods. Were they factory replacements? A lot of guys have had luck with custom length pushrods.

I replaced them with the ones third strike sells bought all my parts from them,called told them what the problem was and they told me what to use.

I have about 1500 miles on noproblems with engine yet think I am in good shape there, How ever I am working out of town discovered a bad wheel bearing took it to a small shop in the erea asked them to check it out, turns out one is shot other is on its way,told them to give me a price to just do both with new pads and turn rotors.Keep in mind this a 2500 2 wheel.Anyone care to guess what i was quoted.These are the front wheels.
