I am the proud owner of a 2010 Dodge ram 1500 Big Horn with the 4 headlamp style where the low and high beam are separate bulb. I am going to be purchasing a HID kit but not exactly sure what I need. I know I will need the Volt Canbus system. I have been told I might need a relay harness? Any feed back with what I need and who's the best will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

I got my highs, lows and fogs from eBay for my 13 with quad headlights. You will need to look for CANBUS HID kits. They should have the warning cancellor and the relay to prevent flickering. Other than that pick your ballast wattage (I'm running 55w) and your color temp (I'm running 10,000K). Search and go. Read the reviews of the seller, specifically the HID kits they sold. The last kits that I bought for my RAM and the wife's Durango were from BravoRacing on eBay. If I remember they were about $60 a kit.

I used to read into all the hype about these high dollar kits and would spend $2, 3, 400 on a kit because it said this and said that..... I now call BS! The only difference between those kits and the cheap eBay kits are the $$$$ and maybe the labels. I got friends that still buy these crazy expensive kits and mine out do theirs. Don't get me wrong, there are some complete turds on eBay too! There's some high dollar kits that are turds too!

Okay great thanks. So what I'm understanding is that I only need a kit with the Canbus system, I do not need the relay harness and all that. Please correct me if I'm wrong here

Thanks again for the help. Just one last question. Do I need the Canbus for my fog lights as well? Or just the heads?

you'll want to run a harness on both. fogs aren't always 100% needed, but its a great insurance policy that it gets the right power.

pop me an email if you have any questions!
