Hole in storage area under rear seats

Hey guys, I recently bought my 02 1500 and while cleaning it noticed something odd. There is an opening in the storage area on the passenger side under the rear seat. There is a X cut in the carpet and a hole in the floor board.

It's similar in shape to the drain holes in the bed but bigger. Any ideas on a plug for this or another way to fix it?

Go to the local hardware store and find a rubber plug similar to the ones in the truck bed. I bet someone must have ran wiring and when up thru that hole to get into the cab of the truck...... How big is the hole, maybe post a picture of it???
