So my homelink button is programmed to my garage. 2 or 3 times now, I'll be coming home and using the button to open the garage and it fails to open. I'll have to get out and use the garage keypad to open the door. Then other times it opens and closes the garage fine. Any ideas as to what is going on here?

I get it occasionally too, then I have to put the truck in park, roll my fat ass out and press the keypad I have on the outside of the door. DAMNIT! lol

I've found a quick stab on the button doesn't always work but if I press and hold for a count of 2 then let up it always works especially if I am rolling up to the house.

Mine does it every once in a while. It wont even light up on the dash saying I pressed it. Then few hours later it works.

I've tried this. Yesterday, I actually sat there and just held the button for probably 20-30 seconds and nothing. On my Charger, I never had any issues with the homelink not working. Weird..

That is weird. Mine has never failed to work in 4 MOPAR vehicles over the past 10 years or so.

A quick stab for me usually results in the door going up 2" and stopping. A longer press works fine.

I'm not sure...I know the 2 or 3 times (I've only had this truck a couple weeks) that it did not work, no matter what I did the garage wouldn't open. But the next day, works fine.

This is going to sound weird but generally always works for me. I programmed #1 for my garage door and if I have that happen getting closer sometimes helps but if that does work I hit button two (not just a quick stab) then go back to button 1 and I can say 99% of the time that has worked for 5 didderent vehicles now with home link

I also tried this trick the other day too...no luck there either lol. I tried everything I could think of short of getting out of the truck and using the keypad to open the garage until I just had to do that lol

mine had been working for 2 years and all of a sudden stopped. I have an appointment with dealer to find out what is wrong on Weds 6/6. I have a thread topic on here as well. I will report back findings once i hear from them.

Does yours not work at all? Today, mine worked fine. I would be curious to know what the dealer tells you though..

What type of bulb are you using on your garage door opener?
Is it LED? LED bulbs are known to interfere with frequencies.

Interesting...I do in fact have LED bulbs in the garage opener...I'm going to switch them out and see if that fixes it.

I can't get my truck programmed at all on my new '18. Tried quite a few different times and different methods but still won't work. I never had trouble programming my wife's jeep, worked on the first try.

Are you following these steps -

1. Program your homelink button with your regular garage remote door opener.

2. Now go put your garage door motor into program mode.

3. Now go back to your truck and press and hold the homelink button that you've already programmed with the remote earlier, down until it finally programs itself to the garage motor.

Hope that helps.

I'll have to give that a try tonight. I hadn't tried those exact steps but it does sound like it would work.
