hey guys, just wondering how bad it is on the truck if you get it hot for 4-8 seconds at a time randomly. i was toying around with a custom turbo rabbit diesel tonight and i accidentally let my EGT's get to at least 1600 deg for no longer than 5 or 6 seconds. Just hoping didnt do any damage and made sure to let truck run and cool down really good after that happened. what do you guys think coulda happened, if anything.

Alot of people will tell you thats super bad, But, talk to the puller guys...alot of them get north of 2k degrees during a pull, and never have an issue.

My truck has seen 1800ish before i got the compounds figured out.

Dont stay in it for long at those temps, and you wont have to worry.

Its fine...for SHORT periods of time. Not something you want to do all the time.

Exactly what these guys said. I've always read/heard that for short periods of time, it's fine.

Thats about what i see normally on a decent hwy pull, Boost reading is messed up, always has been, total boost with primary and secondary right now is set at 85psi, sometimes it creeps to 90ish

Quad never reads over 40psi..and when coolant temp goes over 204, it reads -30 haha..i just use my mechanical gauges

That iQuad system is pretty neat! I used to use their vizion gauge system before I got the mini maxx. I sure miss the data logging capabilities lol... From the looks of yours you've got everything in check

It gets icy cold if i spray the ****, or hit it hard with the spray.

Ive pegged my 100psi gauge once, and datalogged 1040 degrees EGT after a 1/4 mile pass LOL

Zach good to see you again! And my gauge has pegged the 2k mark more than once for 6-10 seconds before. Hurt a turbine wheel but the pistons are still ok. I wouldn't recamend doing it intentionally though lol.

Housing was fine, I had low fuel pressure which caused the objectors to not fire properly, and not enough turbo. How well its the main dean I built the twins And they have yet to break 1500

well only thing that worries me is my pyro never read over 1600, it just stopped at it, so idk if my gauge wont read past max temp or if it just stopped there but either way was way hotter than i wanted to see it, and since i was ******* around with him, idk how many times i touched it, but only held it for 5 maybe 10 sec max once
