I can hear a squeek in the rear seat of my truck and it sounds like its the ceiling moving around. I noticed the two hanging hooks in the rear are loose. How do I open them up so I can tighten them?

Rear ceiling hooks? Like that hold up the head liner? You kinda just pull, and they'll pop out.

Sorry head liner... I couldn't think of that term when I was writing. So just pull them off? I see that they split in half but wasn't sure if I had to use flat screw driver or squeeze and pull. I have been trying to pull apart but its not easy so that me ask the question.

I wish I could say I did. I went out again and pulled and twisted and no go. they just won't come apart. I'm going to have to pry them apart I guess.

No need to squeeze. Just make sure you aren't blocking the part that pulls off when you're pulling.

If you haven't already figured them out; basically the seam you see on the hook is where the lower portion pulls out, the upper / back portion stays in place. If you hold them from the bottom of the hook housing and pull it will pop out. They are tight, and when they pop loose they will typically pull all the way out of the headliner. (My immediate thought when mine came out was "Great, now I just broke it") But they do come out. They are the push to expand type pins, so once they are in place they are tight.

thanks for the post.I have not tried to get them off in awhile but I still need to. I'll make sure and hold at the bottom and pull and won't freak when they come off. thanks again.
