Just passed 30,000 miles this week. Only issues have been with the transmission or recalls.

61,668 mile on mine. Had is since May of 2014.
Had rear pinion seal leak and long story short the stealership screwed up the rear axle fixing it. Had a wine they they wanted to blame on everything except the rear axle. I knew they screwed up the pinion preload. After a two page letter to FCA they finally replaced the entire rear axle assembly at 10,000 miles.
It's been pretty much trouble free for the past 4 years now.
Love my truck even though it gets 10 mpg.

I'm in the process of deciding between CTD and 6.4. I will use it to daily drive, travel(sometimes a little offroad) and potentially pull a travel trailer in the ~7000lb range. I average about 30,000 a year and due to mileage thought CTD was my only hope. After seeing this thread I am thinking otherwise. Great to hear how long they last otherwise! The only bummer is that if I go 6.4 I'll have to figure out changing my profile to reflect the different engine.

$9K premium for the CTD buys a lot of gas. Buy the CTD because you need the torque it offers. If not, gas is the way to go.

As a note: I currently have trucks that I have purchased from both dealers.

The first dealer tried hard to find the problem. They replaced the ECM, Coil Packs and Had 2 Mechanics check it out and both pulled the intake manifold to check the Cam. Guess they couldn't see much as the Cam was severally pitted. Because they had the truck so long, they didn't charge me or Chrysler anything. One issue however, they wanted me to approve pulling the head to see if there was a problem, but, If they didn't find anything, I would have to pay for the labor. I declined. Being that the truck was running fine, they suggested I drive it til it gets worse.

Second dealer:
I had an appoint for a wheel bearing and ball joints so I told them about the miss-fire issue and what the first dealer said. They said they would find and fix the problem. The only issue was they had to get and approval from Chrysler as the repair cost was over $3,000.
This added a few more days.

They did not ask for any service records.

2018 RAM 2500 PW just turned over 3400 miles, one check engine light at 1200 miles, but was probably just something loose, dealer looked into it, didn't find anything, but it ran perfect when they were done and the light was off, so that was 1000 miles ago and all good still! Love the 6.4!
