I finished my installation yesterday (Thanksgiving).

It was a simple process, and I've noticed it really 'opens' the engine compartment.

A little different 'end result' was accomplished by retaining most of the radiator 'cover'.

I simply cut out a portion of the aforementioned cover - allowing the upper radiator and condenser to be 'protected' from objects that might end up damaging these (ala dropped tools, which I am prone to do).

This does not, IMO, restrict air flow, or if so, minimally with no ill affects.

Looks good. Nice install

Does the Crome PVC cover come with the Vararam kit or is this something I need to run to the parts store and pick up before I start my install?

I did not pull the rubber grommet out of my old CAI and install it on the Vararam. My air flow censor fit tight with out it. Do you guys feel I need to go back and do this?

You don't have to reuse the stock rubber grommet. The IAT sensor should fit snug directly into the Vararam coupler.

Does anyone know if this cai is emissions compliant?
I live in a state where they test for emissions. Not visual inspections, but actual "harmful" emissions that may be omitted. (I'm sure if there is no CEL, it should be fine.)
This does look like a great working cai.

The Vararam is not carb certified, but it will pass smog as long as they aren't looking for the CARB sticker.

Thanks!
They don't ever pop the hood to look into the engine bay, so if they don't know it's there, no harm, no foul. :D
I'm just being cautious of the emissions test. (smog test.)

Guys, I haven't quite good understand - is it washable or oiled filter? I have standard washable Airaid CAI now and no problems just let it be washed every 5-6 000 kms, how should I care of this air grabber? On the vararam webiste is declared:
"Pre oiled and ready to go out of the box. Washable and reusable"
Really cannot understand

The answer to your question is - both. It is a washable filter and must be re-oiled after washing.
The Vararam filter is made by Green Filters USA.
Here are instructions on how to clean and oil the filter:

Or you put a carb sticker on it from another maker.

I am not saying that is what I am going to do, I'm just saying. ;)

Is the Sport hood requiered for this? And is there a Mod to open up the vents on the sport hood? Kinda like the Original Air Grabbers worked

No, the Sport hood is not required. It run and air dam over the radiator and scoops air from the grill. People have talked about doing a mod to the Sport hood but I haven't seen one done. I don't have that hood, so I'm not even sure if the slots in the Sport hood would match the width of the Vararam intake.
