Would that be strong enough?

It’s 500x1 at 2 ohms. I’m running the same amount of power from a Zapco Z-K1D to a single JL 12W6V3 and it’s kicking ass.

I just looked at the Type-Rs and they may require a little more power. Take a look at the JL W6s, they are great on less power.

Do you have a crew cab? My 12W6 is in a Net Audio Single Tall box. It required the seat to be raised a bit. The 10” should fit in a regular depth box. I’m more into rock and sometimes I think I would have been a little happier with the 10W6.

This link is to the passenger side low box. It doesn’t require the seat to be raised. The volume is a little more than the 10W6 requires but Net Audio should be happy to add some blocks internally to lower the internal space. Call them, they know their stuff and will fix you up right.

12" will give you more bass kinda like whats needed for.rap music....10" will make it tigher for say 80's 90's rock (glam bands/hair bands)
I do listen to rock and metal but I also listen to older rap/reggae

The W6V3 sounds like it would be a good fit then. The 10 vs 12 is the choice you would have to make. The 10 will not need the seat raised. The 12 is deeper so you would need the tall box. That’s what I have.

Either way, if you are using just one, get the dual four ohm model so it can be wired to two ohms.

I have a 10" RE Audio scx in a single driver side foxbox ported powered by a kicker zx400.1 and it bumps plenty for me but more importantly, it sounds really good. Granted, I have hertz 3.5" in the dash along with JBL 6x9's in the doors powered by an Alpine 4 channel amp and it gets plenty loud for me. I play in a rock band so my unit of measurement for loudness is pretty high. With that being said, the sub unit I have sounds really good. Way better than the sealed enclosure I used previously. I had to raise the seats, but not an issue and easy to do. I think 2 12's would be overkill unless you're going for spl. That and airspace may become an issue with the foxbox and 12's. I'd go with 10's because of airspace. Lots of good sub companies out there. I only got the RE because of the airspace of the enclosure fit that particular sub really well. I wish I would've waited just a bit longer and got a FI Audio Alpha to put in there, but maybe next time.

I am getting ready to do the same thing except I have the alpine system with sub already. I have had aftermarket in every vehicle I have owned, door and dash speakers already done on the Ram. Souds great actually, just need more bass. I think I would avoid rockville anything. But there are some low cost amps that do get a good review. With mine I will prob do a foxbox, and seen for $99 a jbl mono amp that pushes 350 Watts at 4ohm, more at 2ohm or I may use a old school mtx 2150x amp from the 90s I have laying around.

After more research, I take back what I said about rockville. CES compliant and a 1500 watt RMS amp for $99 is a crazy deal and seen them dyno tested on Steve mead tester and they put out what they claim, almost unbelievable bargain(I may buy one).

It may do all that, but how long will it last. For that price, you know there's some cheap ass components in there. But it all comes down to what you're willing to spend. For that money, I'd go with SKAR.

The dash seems to come apart pretty easily now that I googled it. I'd need to know which wires to tap into. Look up the fox acoustics box, it seems to be the best

If you putting amp under seats you might want to look at fans to cool it....

Best place I’ve found for amps is the back wall.

You can, but then you’ll be running signal, power, and speaker wires through both walls. That opens you up to issues if the wires rub against the edges of the hole. Plus it creates a place for water to get into the cab.
