I thought the same thing.....so I ordered a new unit. I'll post results.

I did dig some more, the blend door actuator didn't change PN's for '18. It must be something with the learn span (calibration) procedure on initial power up.

Hopefully the new module will fix it. When I installed the '18 module in mine, it was an instant fix for the temperature problem. As soon as I powered up the truck, the temperature slider and servo motor were dead on.

Just a quick follow up, a new HVAC control module didn't work either, same response. Something else is at play. I'll just work around it.

Which HVAC module did you use?

The one that came with my truck. I didn’t change it out. That said, I only felt for hot air and it was pretty hot. I didn’t pull the glovebox to look. Based on the description of the prob though I would have expected warm air, not hot. I’ll know on the first cold morning for sure but as of right now I don’t think I’m seeing the issue.

I have an ‘18 with the manual climate control and seven speed fan. Mine temperature slider is out of sync. It used to be right. When set to hot, it is hot, but when set to cold it is warm unless I keep pressing the temp down button. I have had two recalls done but I am told they wouldn’t have anything to do with this. I have had the Uconnect update as well, I wonder if it may be to blame?

Possibly, but it may be a bad HVAC module. Dealer trip is in order

If you get the chance to look sometime, I'd really like to know which PN module came with your truck. It's possible it's a cross to the 2018 module.

I have a question related to the temperature control issues some of us are having. The manual temp control is not working right but what about the trucks with this issue that are auto climate control capable? Do they work correctly when in auto mode?

Another update. Decided to poke around with Alpha. Ran the HVAC actuator calibration routine, everything passed. Temperature blend actuator went from full hot to full cold. Then I used Alpha to set the temperature to full hot, and full cold; the actuator went to the according limits. I then tried stepping through the temperature range, and response was as expected. 60°F is just off of the full cold limit. Power cycled the truck and I still have the same faulty response from the on screen slider. This makes me believe the on screen slider itself is not calibrated properly. Full cold on the slider aligns with ~74°F as commanded by Alpha.

Any thoughts on updating the radio? b2e31cc6a7c8928e89147bc4139cb385.jpg

Application version 19.9 is the same version on both my UAx Radios and it worked well in my 13 ram & factory 18 UAS truck. What's the PN on your radio again?

That's a valid USA ram radio PN. Hmm. Is your truck a 1500 or 2500

2015 1500 Express Crew. Originally an RA1, upgraded to an RA2 on my own, then decided to take the easy / safe routo and went with an Infotainment kit for the UAQ upgrade.

Just to bring this thread back wanted to confirm everyone except @ckleinfeld got their HVAC slider back in order by replacing their module with an 18 one?
I just did the uaq upgrade in my 2014 and am having the same problems.

I replaced the HVAC module today with a 2018 and it did not fix the issue. There is still a mismatch between the slider and the blend door
