So the first part of this story begins back in September my way to work. On clear day back in September I was driving to work ( normal flow of traffic) when my 2015 Ram 1500 5.7 with 66600 miles (roughly) failed. Long story short the first dealership I took it to wanted to charge me an absurd amount of money for warranty work. I have another Thread on that situation if you feel so inclined to read it. late September early October I take the vehicle to another dealership do you have the warranty work performed. on November 20th, 2017, I took possession of the vehicle after having engine components replaced. While picking up my vehicle I discover that the vehicle has been ready for over a week, but no one made any attempt to contact me. On December 3rd, 2017, 13 days later, with roughly 500 miles the motor fails again. The engine shut off while I was exiting the interstate I attempted to restart and I got a horrible knock. that night I have the vehicle towed back to the dealership and was told the vehicle would be looked at Friday which was unacceptable. I ask the dealership for a courtesy vehicle, but I am told that is three weeks out. I contact the service manager and explain the situation. He tells me that he will expedite it. I contact FCA and explain the situation to them as well and they again tell me they will have it expedited. my case manager at FCA explain to me that the vehicle be looked at Wednesday or Thursday this week. today December 7th, 2017, I contacted the dealership asking you my vehicle had been looked at and I was told no that my appointment wasnt until Friday. (are you kidding me) so I asked to speak with the service manager. And this Joker has the audacity to lie to me!!!! He says "oh yeah the vehicle was brought in earlier today". Well how can this be when your service advisor has told me that the my appointment wasnt until Friday? I explain to the service manager that FCA advised me that my vehicle would be looked at Wednesday or Thursday. Then once more this Joker has the audacity to tell me that FCA doesn't run his shop and I can take it else. ( again are you kidding me!!! Really)? I am so fed up with this whole thing!!! I will have more information to this situation when it becomes available.

Damn. It seems like you have yourself a unicorn. I haven’t heard of one with so low of miles just fail like that. It seems like your major problem is with the dealerships in your area and not mopar itself. It seems as though they just put a band aide on the problem instead of fixing it. Definitely do not blame you for leaving the brand. The new 2018 f150s are very nice. Don’t go with chevy though. I have a buddy with a 2016 Silverado and 2017 Sierra and both are experiencing the same transmission issue.

Sounds like you need a better dealership to take it to. What has me going with Ram trucks nowadays is that my local dealer has an excellent service dept that fixes my problems right the first time most of the time. My other branded trucks proved hard to repair as the dealers never seemed to fix anything properly. Perhaps other members in your vicinity can point you to a better service dept. I do realize that due to costs of transporting your vehicle and that because it's already at a FCA authorized service centre your stuck with where it's at for now, but I can tell you from experience all brands of trucks have problems and the service dept you use makes more difference than the brand as far as keeping it reliable and on the road.

Sorry to hear this, my truck has been in dealership for cylinder misfire for 5 weeks now.

But dealership does have queue of cars to fix, and maybe only have a couple mechanics who work on complex engine problems. So if there are a few cars ahead of you already scheduled, they're not going to push back those cars..

I waited 3 weeks for mechanic to become available and for backorder of lifters, they just tear down my truck last week. They did provide a rental all this time.

This kind of thing could happen with any make vehicle. Got a Ford buddy an he's had crappy service ...then at other times, decent service. You wish ya didn't have to go through this. Hope they get it resolved soon.

Maybe you're a Toyota guy in the making!!

Sorry to hear this, but any brand can have a failure like that. Sorry your getting such lousy dealer service, but in my experience, gm and ford are just as bad.

I got excellent service from my honda dealer when i had my crv. But all the domestics are about the same unfortunately

This is definitely a dealership issue. Did you pass that info and response back to FCA? Many of these dealers have a rating with FCA, and to keep it, that kind of thing doesn't sit well.

I have yet to hear of a Ram dealer that is worth a ****. Nationwide most have a 3-4 week backlog on service/warranty issues. I know my dealer in Pueblo, Co. is also this way and they don't care what the problem is you are going to the back of the line. Then you get in there and they seldom can fix the problem and if so parts have to be ordered- come back in a few weeks. I often wonder if there are so many issues with FCA vehicles that the dealers cant keep up or if they hire skeleton mechanic crews as to keep their expenses down- customer service be damned. I received my 10th recall on my 2014 and am dreading even trying to make an appointment.

Ouch not good to hear. I have an old truck so I don’t usually work with dealers anymore.

That kind of service would sour me on a brand too. Thankfully, my Rams haven't needed any work nesides recalls on the 2014 I had and my dealer hooked me up no problems. Good luck, man.

Maybe you can list the dealership and spare others such poor service.

I drive 20k miles for my commute to work alone, and I have a desk job. It isn't that crazy.

Also remember 2015's were sold during 2014.

Wow, what a nightmare my friend. I hope all turns out good for you. I am very fortunate to have a dealer that really cares and has taken extra steps many times to take care of me.
