The other day I parked my truck and immediately tried to restart it. When I turn the ignition switch the dash lights come on, when going to the start position it seems like the key go's past it and stops. Has no spring resistance. No starter engagement, just dash lights. Please help.

It appears that something broke off in the column. The best thing I can say is get the truck home and pull the column apart there is something for sure broke inside.

As for working with the airbags make sure to unhook the battery for at lets 15 minutes before start to work on the steering column this will prevent getting a face full of air bag by accident.
