I just want to start out saying the information on this site is incredible and the knowledge of the members has been so helpful and i hope this post can ad to the vast amount of information! But here I go, This past weekend I picked up a throttle body and intake for my 360, I am planning on doing the kegger mod with taking the throttle body's air horns off and taking the inside diameter the .004 thousandths to a true 50 millimeter bore. .. 20171207_205658.jpg

Here is the throttle body and intake before anything was done20171207_205658.jpg 20171208_213554.jpg
Heres the throttle body after cleaning and disassembly ... I had read alot of people had problems taking the butterfly bolts out so i took extra care removing them and had no issues i aslo used a rubber mallet to knock the rod that holds the butterflies out20171208_213848.jpg
This is where i have a question ... What is this small hole on the top of the throttle body? it had a small screw in it.20171207_213235.jpg
And also how bad does this plenum gasket look?
The further i get into this mod the more pictures and steps i took i will post and any problems i run into

Don't bother with kegger mod. Loses power and tq everywhere without extensive tuning. And then it only extends where it drops off at by about 6-8whp above 4500rpm.

An airgap from Hughes or a 2bbl m1 like i have well consistently make 20-25 more hp and tq everywhere and extend your effective rpm yup 5500-6000

Make sure to stake the throttle blade bolts when you reassemble. They like to fall out if you do not.

If you're talking the threaded hole it's just the factory mounts for the dakotas and other vehicles, they don't use the clamp like ours

The only way that the kegger is going to move more volume is if one could open up the entirety of the runners. Unfortunately, the design of the runners makes this pretty much impossible. Cutting them down will shift the power band higher to the RPM range but their constrictive size will negate any potential power gains anyway. In short, as Pepper said and Ryan has confirmed, you'll kill all your low-end power and gain negligibly in the high end.

I have read of theories where one cuts off the runners entirely, creating a "straight shot" from the throttle body to the intake ports, and then welds a "turtle" onto the pan to reduce plenum volume and help direct the air to the ports . No idea how well this would actually work since it seems very rarely done...

I say that if you are planning on sticking with the kegger, just leave it the hell alone. Get an aftermarket pan with a Fel-Pro gasket to eliminate the PITA intake leak that plagues these manifolds and call it a day. The kegger was designed and engineered for one thing only: maximum low-end torque. It's a job that the kegger does well but the benefits are totally lost once you start screwing with it.

1/4-20, if your trying to use a standard air cleaner, you need to put a 1/2” offset bend in the threaded rod.

Back when these trucks first came out, the keggers were being modded by shaping them with epoxy. There are a couple of threads over on Pavementsucks.com (if the site is still around).

If you’re just doing a round type K&N, essentially any round air filter base for a 4 barrel carb will fit.
