Will a 2 ton jack be able to support a 2500 front end? Or should I use a 3 ton?

A 2 ton Jack should be sufficient. I use one for mine with no issues. Jack stands included after lifting.

My 3 ton seems to struggle at times. Not sure if you have the CTD or not, but that thing weight a pretty penny..

I got these really tall 10 ton jackstand I use since my truck is leveled with 35" tires. Reaches to the frame with no issues.

Kind of hard to tell, but you can see they are one the 2nd to lowest setting height wise and still have a ways to go!

I have just the 6.4 so I'm thinking I should be good but I don't want to make a big mistake

With me in the truck and empty but full of fuel, the front axle weight of my 6.4L is 4120 lbs, rear axle 3200 lbs, per CAT scale.

I use 2 ton jack stands at each corner on stacks of 2 x 12 wood.

I wouldn't recommend supporting the entire front end with a single 2 ton jack (don't think thats possible anyway haha)
