If it's a long bed titans 60 gallon tank may fit. (titantanks.com). They're pricey though. You could also consider running an aux fuel tank in the bed.

long beds have a 36 gallon tank but it will in no way fit a shortbed. a titan tank is diesel tank so it wont work with a gas truck.

My 2500 4x4 short bed has a 36 gal tank. don't know if it would be a direct bolt in for your 1500.

If you are not concerned about where your spare tire is kept, you can put a 20 gal tank in it's place

There is a 32 gallon tank. I think I read somewhere you can switch that in without a problem

3rd gen options were 34 & 35 gallon tanks. The actual main difference for install is a different mounting strap at one end. Not positive, but I think the same pump will work (compare part numbers).

The truck is lowered with roll pan and the tank has never hit anything which is more than can be said for the original tank.
Ground clearance is not an issue.

So when I do mine, I still have vertical room for more volume in the tank, then. Okay. Good to know.

Its basicsly a modified mustang 20 gallon tank that some hot rodders like to use. For a street truck that gets 10mpg at cruise it is as small as anyone would want to go. Obviously not for everyone.

Ah. I was planning on a custom welded aluminum tank with a side fill tube instead of a bed fill setup.

Side fill is a challenge to route the fill tube around the frame.

There are, what, 2 inches between the bed and the frame? Should be enough... If not, maybe route it around the end of the frame and cut a hole in the bumper mount or something?
