I have a stock 2017 bighorn crew cab 1500 4x4 20 inch rims. What is the largest tire I can put on keeping stock rims and stock truck. I have searched the forum and can’t find a good post on STOCK only. No leveling, no lifting, no rim changes, no spacers, etc.

Personal opinion but the factory 33s are pretty damn tight in there without adding a wheel spacer. I think 33s is the tallest you could go and if you add wheel spacers maybe have 33x12.5 installed

If you want stuffed I think you’re better off installing a leveling kit and 35s. Gives it a nice stuffed look.

Not a 2017, but fairly certain suspension is the same. I have 285/65 Nitto ridge grapplers on an all stock 4x45111251c3d64d5344c2c2060c20574db.jpg8f513716dfa74c26c3d0a466d80a9be1.jpg3ba7055a43c402166cf3206c72205a46.jpg

I've searched for this before, and what I saw was 1 or 2 guys got away with a 305/55R20 on a stock wheel, stock suspension 4x4. Not sure on the full truth on that, might have some rubbing.

305/55/20... stock suspension slight rub at full lock but a 1/4” spacer would take care of that.

I too run 305/55R20 Toyo Open Countra AT.
Unfortunately i discovered too late that previous owner built a ridiculous wheel spacer.
I took the wheel spacer off to avoid vibrations and the inner side wall rubbed on the lower arm.
I installed a 6mm wheel spacer and now it rubs on another place but only when full turning mosly when parking.
I guess a 8mm wheel spacer would eliminate wheel rubbing completely.

305 55 20 is still a 33"tall tire like stock only wider. Navyjoe is running 285 65 20 which is a 34.5" tall tire, but close to factory width. You'll have to decide which bigger you want wider or taller. I'm partial to taller. 275 65 20 which is a 34" stock width.

New tires look great. Might want to add flaps and flares eventually though to save the paint. Those nittos throw rocks and that's a nice looking truck.

Dually noted, didn't think of that I'll have to look into that I'm just so damn cheap! Thanks

I put 275/65R20 General Grabbers on mine. Basically 1" taller than the stock size. This size is only available in LT, not P so expect a mileage hit. I'm happy with the look of the truck. No issues rubbing or anything.

Thanks for all the reply's! think I will go with the 275/65-20's to prevent the scrub and get a little bit taller! Some great looking trucks on this thread! Will try to get mine loaded soon!

We have customers all the time getting custom mud flaps to cover the aggressive tires sticking out from the fender well, and even those not sticking out are just destroying the side of their trucks. You want to check with your local PD to see what laws they have regarding tires sticking out and lifts. The modification could end up costing you much more than expected.
He's only got 5mm out more than stock and no lift so shouldn't be a problem legal wise. Some areas do have mud flap laws though where stock trucks off the show room floor aren't legal and the dealers rarely warn you about it.

Did you do the install yourself? Did you get a new UCA?

Thanks

Yes I did install myself with the exception of installing the spring preload spacers IN the struts. My spring compressor is marginal for truck springs so for safety sake I took the struts to a tire shop that had a big safety shrouded wall mounted spring compressor. They only charged me $30.00 to disassemble the 2 struts and reassemble them with the spacers installed.

Because the spacer is IN and not on top of the strut the overall length of the strut is unchanged the spacer that goes on top of the strut is only 3/13" thick so at full droop the ball joint is not anywhere being in a bind so yes my stock UCAs are in use. One interesting thing of note, the kit does provide a solid 2.5" if front lift. Surprisingly that is accomplished by installing a mere 1 7/16 inch wide spring preload spacer IN the strut and a 3/16" wide spacer on top of the strut.
