This is going to be a work in progress and have a lot of research, and maybe yall can help.

I have a 2013 ram 1500 with the bumper that has no fog lights nor cut outs for fog lights... Ive been foruming around and found out i need to switch my bumper out to put the 13 headlights in..

I dont want to spend $300 on a new bumper, so i am going to try and build something that will work in the current bumper.

1500ram12, told me that the 09-12 should work in the spot of the air damn. I was wondering if anyone can confirm that, if so that would be epic. Otherwise, does anyone know a place that will sell a bracket that would fit in the tight spot? or has done this.

Here is my pumper for referance.

Once i figure everything out and ask a bunch of QQ, ill do a write up of this.

Just a thought, have you considered a bull bar and mounting a light bar on that? I guess a more important question are the lights going to be used like you would with fog lights, using them all the time? Jj sells a single row led light "bar" that I believe will fit in those spots and I think are bright enough to use as fogs but not bright enough to have people flash you.

The only problem with the kit for the 09-12 I mentioned half of it you wouldn't be able to use. The jumper and switch wouldn't be any use to you and I don't know if you can find just the lights and brackets.

And another thought. When I had my 1500 I bought a set of Hella 2x4 lights and mounted in those spots. I had to cut and bend part of the bumper bracket to get the lights to point down enough.

Yeah i would like to use them everytime the lights are on. I went to chrysler to see if they had the kit for 9-12 and they didnt. I only need the bracket, and maybe the light. I would prefer to use light pods instead of factory bulb. Im open to suggestions, but my only thing is, it needs to be wired through the factory harness so i can use the foglight button in the cab. I refuse to run aux switches, unless i can put the factory aux switches in. If the 09-12 brackets work on that 13+ Bumper i will find them... My only concern, its TIGHT in there.

I could do that, i just dont want to run aux switches in the cab, they look messy to me...

The more I think about it I decided to run a grille guard like you said and hook them up with lights then tie into the factory wiring. I also found another post where a guy spliced some pigtails to his light pods and his foglight button activated them. So I think that is going to be my route.

Grill guard, add lights through factory wiring, and then maybe add a light bar and a whinch at a later time.

How much power can I pump out of the fog circuit?

You'd be fine with either a led bar or 2 smaller led bars like 7-8".

Got my grill guard put on, now im just waiting on amazon credit before i buy all the lights and wiring.

Im going with LED light pods, i was wondering, i saw a harness on some guys forum post, forgot to favorite it, its goes from wiring to a harness, that then plugs into the jumper, anyone know what that is?

No, i dont think so, it was bare wires, that you would connect the pods to the wires, then it plugs into the harness.

Im guessing i could cut off the plug in on the jumper, on the light side, strip the wires, and solder and heatshrink to pods, then connect the other side of the jumper to the rest of the harness.

I want to say it looked something like this

Wires to pods, connectors to jumper

How many pods are you going to use? If more than 2 do you plan on running 1 set separate from the other?

Trying to wrap my head around what you're saying about the wiring. Too early not enough caffeine I think.

Going to wire two pods, I'm assuming since there after market the jumper is not going to just plug into it. So I'm going to need a pig tale to solder to the pods then then plug into the jumper.

Am I wrong?

Ok I'm ready to order my SHeet, how much power can the Fog light circet support, I don't want to over load it with 2 light pods.

When I wire them in is there a separate fuse I need to add to the fuse box once it is plugged in? I remember seeing in your forum 1500ram12 you need to tap the 23 24, how to I do that? never tapped into a wiring harness before.

No extra fuses needed. 2 pods will be fine. People use the 4 pod foglight conversion without problems. I used these to tap into the foglight feed.

It looks like on your pictures on your truck, the 23 24 wires, have short leads on them that I can splice into no problem?

So from what it seems like, I break off the jumper end that goes to the harness, and take the 2 grounds and just ground them out somewhere, then solder 2 wires to the jumper and then attach those to the I'm guessing leads on the PDC/TPIM( what ever it is called)?

Are the wires on the harness color coated to? or do I need to find out which is the right and which is the left and attached them to the appropriate 23/24

Did this conversation on my truck, started with two pods then changed to four. They run with no problem also have two pods on the rear bumper and have a 50 inch. I wouldn't worry about extra fuses or power. As for connecting to fog light wires I bought a adapter pluged it straight into the factory and soldered the wires to the pods and mounted them up! I'll post a picture of y'all want.

Oh man that would be great, also if you dont mind posting where you got your adapter plug. You have to remeber my truck did not come with fogs, i dont think its pre wired for fogs either?
