    Hi,
I'm trying to replace the ignition control module on my 1986 D250 pickup with a 318 carb engine. I can't seem to find it in all the places one would think it would be (firewall/fenderwells). I'm not sure if I'm on the wrong track.

Here's a pic of what the guy at an auto parts place sold me for this truck, it also matches the image in the haynes manual, which doesn't say the location. BWD Ignition Control Module CBE14P: Get the best Ignition Module/Control at Advance Auto Parts

    Any ideas? thanks!

Does it have a/c? It might be under the HVAC/blower motor housing attached to firewall...

does your truck have a computer on the air filter or behind the battery? if so then you have the lean burn ignition system. the ignition module on the lean burn system is in the computer.
