so im camming my hemi im just waiting on greene racings custom locators. im about to order long tubes, gaskets, bolts, pacesetter y-pipe, and cats. the problem is is that I cant decide on cats. right now im running single 3" pipe catless with a flowmaster super ten dumped behind the axle and lost some torque I think so when I do long tubes I want to put cats on. im thinking about the flowmaster 223 series but what would yall suggest? also am I gonna run into any problems with o2's? I know the long tubes both have an o2 **** on them can I run my wide band off one and the upstream o2 off the other?

Being an 03 you should only have to get 1 cat.

You going to run a converter with that setup? Cam and longtubes loves a little bit of stall. If you stall it a cat will be a waste of money as the stall will bring you past the point of the low end loss. Just a suggestion

I figured there was a reason everyone ran two cats right where the long tubes end. i looked it up but couldn't find anything but if i can just run one cat where it y's into a single pipe that would be awesome.

I run no cats on my cammed 03 and I love it. I lost low end at first when I just had manifolds but after the long tubes that went away fast. I'd look into hedman long tubes with the 1 5/8ths primary's as they have a lot better low end which is great for daily driving . Seems like with a mild cammed 3rd gen the 1 3/4 headers are a little much and thus make the low end loss more noticeable. I am running the 1 5/8 headers now and they are awesome. Will be stepping up to the 1 3/4 in a few months with quite a bit bigger cam to see if they help. Mind you I am going to be setup with a 4000 stall and moving a lot of air so if may benefit my setup with BV heads, cam, full bolt on's and mostly a race truck. 1 3/4 is over kill for most ppls plans

are the headers you got PN:72590. is there really a need to get them coated or anything? and is 585 a good price for the stainless steel model?

585 is not bad at all. I would get those, I actually have the ceramic coated ones that are around 800-900 but those will work. The coated ones just help keep under hood temps down. Great headers IMO , that part number is correct. Get the matching 3" off-road y pipe with it and you will be good to go. Notice a very nice gain with only that mod. 3-4/10ths with just headers on my truck

I would ditch the cats as well, I don't have any, Ended up selling them to a guy in a emissions state for $65 which help recoup a lil beer money.

I run two magnaflow spun cats (rated #6000 ea). You can use a w/band on the drivers side and the forward O2s on the passenger side. I did this mostly because the wiring reaches the Passenger side. I located the cats over the cross member and measured the Y pipe and cut off a length of the Y pipe the same as the cat and welded them to the Y pipe. Keep in mind you want to beable to pull the exhayst down for trans/converter work at a future time.
IMO the best cat to use is the 03 cat as it was designed to be used as a single cat. Two of them no doubt out flows the others. The draw back is they are a snug fit and I was happy with the fit.

Hedman LT's here as well. I also have the Hedman ORY. If you can swing the ceramic coating do it. When I bought these they weren't coated. They were painted with high temp paint. It quickly burnt off and they looked like crap. When I had the cam installed I had the coated.
