Own a floor care business in northern Maine. Have Been looking for a gas 3/4 ton truck to pull a trailer and equipment for a while now. Test drove gmc, Chevy, and Ford at first. Liked the gmc, and Chevy. Wanted to hate the ford because I was used to the 2016 and previous model years, but the 17 was damn nice. Really liked it. Was set on the 17 ford but they were so damn expensive. Wanted to exhaust all options so I test drove a 2500 ram with the 6.4 in it. Came away very impressed. It was a tradesmen, with few options. That night I was on CarGurus, and found a 2016 ram 2500 bighorn blackout package with 46000 miles for the right price. Looked clean as hell, and had all the options. Heated cloth, steering wheel, tow package, 8.4 uconnect, all of it. Told my wife, I’m driving to mass to trade my truck in tomorrow to buy that truck.

I get to Massachusetts, and the damn truck is so clean. Had a flow master on it too! My test drive impression was WOW. This thing had balls. On my way back I pick up a new trailer, and it towed awesome.

Fast forward 2 days, this damn truck is sick. I’m not one for grandstanding, but my fire department buddies ask if it can do a break stand. Holy sh*t. Yes it can and then much more. I don’t know if it’s the flowmaster but this truck is just mean. Am so impressed with the fit and finish and drive. Truck drives like brand new. My mechanic who I’m good friends with says the thing is rock solid, and pointed out the receiver never saw a hitch! No paint missing or rust at all. Towing my 7x14 v nose tandem I hand calced 8 mpg at 80 mph. No weight I got 17.

Clearly I’m in The honeymoon period, but this blacked out beast has guys around here thinking ram has something going.

I have some crappy pics that don’t do justice cuz I’m tall but this thing is big tall and angry.

So glad to be here. Shouldn’t even say this but wife feels frisky in it too!

Great story and very sharp truck! For towing the 2500 can't be beat (in my opinion). To find one with the blackout package...thats awesome! Congrats!

Welcome. Your last line is making me think I should have bought a blacked out 2500. My silver 1500 is just another vehicle to my wife.

Nice rig. My wife has never known me without a truck. Everyone of them black. She said she'd have to leave me when I threaten to get rid of my truck. One of the reasons she married me :)
