Ok peeps, help me out here. :) I bought this WDH rated to 10,000 lbs and it looks very sturdy. I would need to drill a couple of holes for the rear brackets (see red arrows). I wonder if it's overkill for our smaller camper (say 6,000 lbs). Should I remove chain and hook up straight into sway bars (blue arrow) like a typical WDH setup? Or drill holes, mount it all, and enjoy it?

Thoughts? Thanks guys.

Drill holes. That bracket and bar is the sway control on the Reese dual cam.

Drill the holes, those dual cam hitches are pretty spendy not to make use of the sway control.
I have a regular WDH with the traditional friction sway control. From what I have read the dual cam setup you have is much nicer.
No such thing as overkill for towing in my opinion.

Drill the holes. Use grade 8 bolts. The WD setup is useless without those pieces. My trailer is 5500# and I wouldn't tow without that WD setup. I think it's one of the best.
