My Quad Headlight retrofit build.

I think this may actually be my first post. I just finished building my headlight retrofit project. I’m very pleased even though I’ve found several flaws I wish I would have found before.

Build list:
-Morimoto MLED projectors (lo/hi beam)
-Morimoto X.DRL 1 (high beam more for looks though)
-Morimoto XB LED vertical fogs
-Diode Dynamics RGBW demon eyes
-Diode Dynamics HD fitted halo (DRL and switch backs)
-Diode Dynamics switch back 3157s
-DKMOULDS light tint clear reflectors

I applaud your commitment to a complex project. Seems like a whole lotta work tho to make the front of your truck look like the back of your truck. Would definately get you a ticket in NJ. Can't have red lights on the front of any vehicle. Nice job!

Nice work! Retrofits can be expensive and very time consuming but the end result is worth it.

How do you like the output of the LED projectors?

Those aren’t on while driving. Nor would I ever have them on in red or blue while driving. They have a true white feature that can be used as a DRL if desired. I know and respect the laws of my state and any other state for that matter.[emoji1303]

I truly meant you did a very nice job with a project many guys would never attempt. No disrespect was intended. They look great! Sorry if you misunderstood my attempt at some light humor. The ticket warning thing was sincere. Don't know where you are. Guys here warned me about using a lightbar in VA which probably saved me. All good here. PS: the trophy statement is my signature, not directed at anyone in particular.

Definitely took it the wrong way when first read. I appreciate it. It was a lot of hard work. I have video showing how everything looks in use but couldn’t figure out how to load it on here.

What was your total cost, excluding the original quads?

Look awesome! I actually have retro shop building me a set now ... I’ve done a few builds minus the projectors. ... just too lazy to do it myself this time lol so much work and hassle ;-) look great!

I’ll upload them shortly. Didn’t think about using YouTube.

I got very lucky and ordered almost everything during Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Was able to save about $300-$400. I have about $980 in them. Including picking up a second set of lights on Craigslist. I didn’t cut into my factory black Quads.

Yes they are. And I’d be lying if I said it was easy. But it was nowhere near as hard as I expected. Be patient and careful

I’ll have to take some. I need to get them aimed better.

I was lucky and got mine on Cyber Monday. Got $100 off of them. If you think about it though. Add up what it cost to do an MLED retrofit then what it would cost to do a Mini D2S with HIDs (all the components, not just the projector) very very little price difference. Mini H1 would be a little cheaper and easier to install but I don’t think they look right. Too small. Killer projector though.

As of now, LED is still losing to HID in overall performance but the MLED is very impressive.

Do you think you could have put a useful projector in the high beam spot? Trying to plan my build and really want a 2nd projector in the high beam for obnoxious amount of light.
