Thanks, ya the 37's were great, the only downside was driving over 80mph on highway trips it would search for gears, lower speeds wasnt a problem but it really needed 4.56 gears. These 325's aren't much smaller but on my last 1200 mile trip the truck performed much better. I have a heavy foot :smoke2:

Silly question but how hard would it be to swap to 4.56 gears ?

Well for one thing it requires a front diff from 09-11 because you can’t swap in 4.56 in these newer trucks, custom new front driveshaft etc, cost you about $4000 to run a tire 1” taller. Like I said though it was fine until my son moved off to college and we started making long highway trips to visit him and even then it wasn’t bad till we got to above 3000ft elevation at speeds 80mph plus

Yes I know that feeling as our daughter went off to college 500 miles away. I’m running 3.92 gears and only a 2” lift. I went with 275/70/18 tires in Toyo Open Country fitment so yes definitely heavier then what came factory.DE05FDCC-82DC-4BBA-899F-A042ACAF76DD.jpeg

The one thing that stood out to me was the swap back to the OEM UCAs.

With all the posts regarding UCAs and lifts/levels, for whatever reason I had assumed I’d definitely need them if I planned on going up.

Even though, like you, I plan on the BDS lift w/ rear 3” coils and utilizing Icon 2.5 coilovers at stock height without the preload spacer due to not having excessive rake from factory, wanting to still under my covered parking, and run 315/70r17 w/o massive wheel gap.

If I were to raise the coilovers in the front, I’d be back into the territory of needing upgraded UCAs due to the change in geometry.

Nice piece of information to learn that wasn’t apparent to me. [emoji106]

Thanks, yes some of the aftermarket arms aren’t really meant for a drop bracket style lift kit that corrects the geometry, they are more suited for level kits and coil over lifts since they have angle correction built into the design. With a drop bracket style lift there are no angles to correct since they include longer knuckles.

Here’s a picture of a truck that shouldn’t have the arms installed on his 4” lift

My Ram Night with BDS Lifted on 37's

Well guys after months of deliberation, researching parts/lifts/tires/wheels and seeing all the nice setups people have here, I finally decided to lift mine. Just like others here, I went back-n-forth between leveled, 4" or 6", 35's or 37's etc. I have 3.92 gears and decided to just go for it and have the BDS 6" installed with Bilstein 6112 front struts @ 2.60" and the 5" rear coils with Bilstein rear shocks. I dropped the truck off 10/09 and picked it up Friday the 13th. Driving home I was surprised at how well it rides, its so smooth I couldn't believe it. You feel bumps in the roads but it just glides over them like there nothing, kinda hard to explain but I'm very happy with ride comfort.

Fender measurements:
Before: Front 36.75 and Rear 39.5 (2.75 rake)
After: Front and Rear both at 46.25

Parts List:
1. BDS Suspension Lift 6” front with optional 5” rear coils P/N 671H.
2. Zone Offroad Heavy Duty Upper Control Arm kit P/N D2301.
3. Bilstein 6112 60MM front struts with coils set @ 2.60” P/N 47-242548.
4. Bilstein 5100 46MM rear shocks P/N 33-185569 w/superlift 77-80038.
5. KMC XD-832 Wheels 20X9 -12mm offset 5x139.7 Hubcentric Satin Black
6. Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 37X12.50R20 P/N 33337 (76.7 LBS).

I don't have any nice offroad pics or scenic background photos yet, just a few driveway shots but here it is anyway :)

Well it’s been 2 years since I had my 6" BDS lift installed and I am still very satisfied with it. I haven't had one single issue, no noises, no rust on the components, no alignment issues or anything, its been a great kit.

Over the 2 years I have added a few upgrades and in 03/2019 I lowered it some and changed the tire/wheel setup.

Changes highlighted in red below

Ground to Fender measurements:

Current: Front 43.75 and Rear 44.50 (0.75 rake)

Parts List:
1. BDS Suspension Lift 6” front with optional 3” rear coils P/N 671H (preload spacer never installed).
2. OEM Upper Control Arms.
3. Bilstein 6112 60MM front struts with coils set @ 0.00” P/N 47-242548.
4. Fox 2.0 Performance Rear Shocks P/N 98224758.
5. Fuel D670 Wheels 20X10 -18mm offset 5x139.7 Hubcentric Matte Black
6. Nitto Ridge Grappler Tires LT325/60R20 P/N 217440 (69.8 LBS).
7. Core4x4 Tier 3 Adjustable Rear Upper and Lower Control Arms and Panhard bar.
8. Hellwig Rear Swaybar P/N 7709.

JB do you know the max height of your vehicle? Ground to antenna top (I'm assuming highest point?

Slowly working towards my lift-similarly spec'd to yours, but I want to still be able to fit under my carport.

I may just have to invite you over and see how your truck fits or doesn't fit.

We’ll guys it’s been 5 years to the day that I lifted my truck and it’s still doing great with zero issues, so glad I went with the BDS lift. The ridge grapplers wore out so I thought I would give the Recon grapplers a try in the same 325/60R20, so far I like them.

Your truck was and still is a go to for my research on building my truck. Absolutely stunning build.

What gearing did you run with the 37's?

Was there a noticeable difference going from 37's to 35's ?

Also great to hear you are not having issues with your lift. I'm about 18 months in for my lift and the truck puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it. The only problem I'm having with it is the wife likes driving it as much as I do.

Those tires are nice and damn, your truck looks as good as it did the day you lifted it.

Super easy and pretty cheap to do if you shop around for a Gen 3 front diff. Picked up my front diff for 300$

I have the 3.92 gears so it’s not bad with the 325’s, I break em loose all the time. I have a heavy foot so the 37’s just weren’t right for me.
