Ok, I have s 2016 ram 1500 Express, 5.7. I was cleaning the truck today and was checking out the grill shutters. On the passengers side just behind the shutters there is a plug hanging down. What is that for??? Block heater? Does any one know.

Could be a head bolt heater, do you have any picture? If it is a standard 110 plug it likely is a block heater. What part of the country do you live in?

If it’s by the hood latch then it’s the connector for the hood ajar switch.

Yea, I say it' about 3-4 inches to the left of the latch. Guess i dont have that switch. Kind of funny to think there' a sensor for the hood.

If it's that, the sensor is used to disable the remote start with hood open, or to turn off the truck if it was started remotely and the hood was opened while it was still running in remote start mode.

The plug may be for engine bay light. The wiring plug for the light is in all RAMs.
