Guys,

Need some help deciding on size of lift and tires. I have a 2013 Sport 2wd w/Hemi. I know there are a lot of people that don't understand why lift a 2wd, I just like the look. Live in South Florida, not a lot of off-roading options or weather to require 4wd.

I'm leaning towards the MaxTrac 4.5 lift, with a set of 20x10 wheels wrapped in 33's. One of my concerns is that the 33's will look too small (I see most with 35's). I'm trying to keep the truck riding as close to stock as possible.

Does anyone have any things I should look out for, and if anyone has pictures of this combo, it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I had the maxtrac 4.5 on my 2016 and the CST 4" on my 2015, 2014 and 2013. I never had any problems with the CST setups. The maxtrac was put on at 10,000 miles. At 20,000 miles I had to replace left wheel bearing. CST was more money but better quality IMO. I ran nitto terragrappler G2 285/65r20 which are 34.57x11.5 on stock ram wheels. 12.5 would be too wide for the 5.75" backspace of the stock wheels. With a 5" or less backspace 12.5 would be no problem. If you go with an aggressive looking tire, 33,s will look good. BTW the stock goodyears are 33x11. The ride was just as good as stock. You're not changing any of the front geometry, just putting on longer spindles.

Thanks for the reply. I was actually looking at both CST and Maxtrac, I'll definitely do some more research into CST. Thanks.

In my opinion, and this is mine. If you are going to spend the money to make it look like a 4x4 do it all the way. The 4.5 should let you clear most 35x12.5 with the right wheel or spacer. A 35 isnt that much more than a 33 and it will help fill up the gap.

Don’t have to explain yourself. Your truck. Your preference. I love the look of a jacked up truck.

Anyways, personally if I were you I’d save money on lift and tires. Spend the money on a high quality 2” lift and stock 33’s won’t look bad. You can get a nice aggressive tire and get like a 33x12.5xwhatever. Won’t look out of proportion. Maybe even a 3” lift with 33’s.

Personally I plan on 2” lift and 33’s. Just slightly bigger. I go hunting and fishing but don’t plan on off roading. Worst I’ll see is a sketchy dirt road.

Just my 2 cents

Thanks for the advise. When you mention high quality lift, any companies in particular you are referring to. I was looking at either Maxtrac or CST, any others I should consider?

those are the only for 2wd. 2" LIFTs are spacers. Buy the maxtrac if money is an issue. you'll be happy with them.:naughty:

Not really concerned about the money. I'd rather spend a little more and get a better kit. It's sounding like the CST 4" with the 285's might be the combo. I've seen pictures of the 4" lift with 33's and the tires look a little small, but the 35's look too big to me. I also don't want to run a much bigger tire, because I don't want to get into gearing and such. Thanks for all the advice.

good setup. cst 4" front 3" rear. you,ll have to change your rear shocks. with 285/65 20. you'll love it. no worries with gearing.

Sounds like a plan. I'll post some pictures when it's done. Looking to pull the trigger in January.

I'm not sure about the ride height on a stock 2wd, but the factory 20" wheels come with 275 60 20 tires, which are metric equivalent to a 33". The measurement from the ground to the highest point of the fender lip is 37" with factory 33" tires on the 4wd so that should help you figure out how much lift you need. I have 275 65 20 on mine, which is a 34 and the truck sits at 37.5" without a lift due to the 1" larger diameter tire.
