alright guys i have a few questions regarding a dodge that im looking to purchase. here are the specs.

2003 ram 1500 quad cab 5.7L 4x4
172k
white
leather
bodys in really good condition my biggest question is the mileage.

should i be concerned with the high mileage and if so what are some things i should check out on it to make sure the motor is still strong and reliable.

i really appreciate all the help.

170kmiles is a lot for an 03. Id honestly take it to a professional reliable auto mechanic.

That's a reasonable price.

Ask the seller if you could have a mechanic look at it.

i know of people that have gone that high and past. Since you said the outside looks good it might be a good assumption that it was well cared for mechanically. I agree to see if you can take it to have a mechanic look at it.

just went and checked it out in person for the first time, the tailgate is losing its clear coat and it has a minor dent in the rear drivers side quarter panel. heres the link to it. those are 26's btw, also comes with the stock 20's

It looks pretty clean, but like I said, ask for a mechanic to take a look at it.

But why the hell are the badges backwards?!?

Did you ask about that?

Are you in the KC area? Just curious but its a good looking truck for the price but I'd have a compression test done to see how worn them piston rings are and just a good look over the fluids

its a nice rig...for sure the tailgate is messed up just a little...but if you look at the pics of the stereo it had a double din in it before as for the rims like that on a 4x4 they got to go IMO

Hmmm... I bought my 2004 QCSB 5.7 Hemi SLT Sport package with 77k miles for $6900 before tax and license from a dealer early this year. No major dings/problems inconsistent with the age and mileage.

Get it checked out by your own mechanic to suss it out first. Well cared for or not, wear and tear is wear and tear.
