Just picked up this old hillbilly truck. I paid $102.00 for the transfer. That's it. 360 5 speed 4x4. Today I ordered the entire steering system minus the box.

It's got the Ram Rust. I am trying to locate the inner rockers. Saw ones for a 2nd gen quad cab. but not for a standard. Guess I could tack the outer on to use as a reference for the inner....looks like a 90° brake bend and plug welded to the floor.

How long should I plan for replacing a side? Wondering if a good 3 day weekend be enough to do both sides? Old rig 202k not looking for trophies.

Buddy quoted me $800.00 for cab corner and inner and outer rockers? Per side so 1600.00. He does stellar work. Total rust removal on the truck with full body sprayed with lineX he quoted me 5600.00

Honestly thinking about it.

Holy crap! I hate to say it but $5600 is more than the truck is worth.

3 grand is in linex wondering if the roll on comes out tolerable. Has some sentimental value. Close friend passed away and tracked this truck down. Took me 10 years to find it. Stupid but I remember the day it came off the lot.

A lot of the roll on stuff is actually quite good and still has the option to be sprayed.

For bedliners you have a few options and price points:
1. Linex- you've already mentioned this. Quality is amazing and stupid strong but texture is also really rough and price is high
2. Raptorliner/Scorpionliner/Rhinoloner- all essentially offbrand linex. Virtually the same but not applied via hot spray. Results are very singular if properly done. All can be dyed like linex and all at a much cheaper price. Scorpion and raptor have especially shown amazing durability and finish. Raptor has shown fading over time without uv protectants.
3. Monstaliner-probably the cheapest option but also again very good quality. Texture is totally different from previous options in that it's a smoother almost plastic-like finish. Can be sprayed rolled brushed or really applied about any way. Sorry yields best results from what I've seen

I totally get and support the sentimental value thing. Dad bought my truck when he was at boom operator school in Altas Oklahoma in 2003. I was 7 or 8 at the time so i pretty well grew up in it. I rode through some serious **** in it with him at the wheel in the woods, in the fields, in the snow and in the sand. In 2011 he bought an 05 duramax so he could get a bigger camper. I was 15 almost 16 so the dodge was held onto for me. Together we put a flowmaster catback system on it and he did a basic tuneup. Day i turned 16 my whole world changed lol.
I've changed headlights and exhaust both nearly a dozen times. On my 3rd set of tires not counting the good tires that were on it when i got it. Have gone from 106k to 206k. This year a $3500 700hp capable trans was installed as well as another $2200 for differential re-gearing and posi install. I've spent more money than i care to tally up for fear i might break down in tears and it's TOTALLY WORTH IT
