I am looking to lower my 2011 Ram CC Sport 2wd. I can get a smoking deal on a Belltech kit for a RCSB and I am wondering what I need to do as far as shocks/illicit brackets. I do not want to spend $500 on the brackets unless it is the only way to do it right. I have read that stiffer rear shocks can really help so I am just asking.

The kit will come with springs and hardware (track bar re-locator and sway bar links) but no shocks. Do i need to run different shocks. I have been told Nitro 2 drop shocks are perfect and I have been told the Street Performers are too stiff. I am just trying to make sure I am not missing anything and that I only buy this stuff once instead of 2x. Any help would be wonderful.

I ran the belltech 2/4 kit works good just cut the front bump stop cups. But now got the illicit brackets and its a world of difference no more high speed wobble. Well worth it in my book. If you trying to just cruise around a 2/4 drop will be no problem. And you can always do brackets later if needed.

Thank you very much for some real world advise. I literally am going to cruise it around as my DD and never take it to the track. Shoot the fastest I will ever go is 75mph on the highway and I have not even done that yet in the truck.

I am trying to do it right, but without dumping a ton of money into things that aren't exactly necessary.

On my RCSB, I used the BT kit., but learned to retain the front factory shocks and only use the rears.
Springs were fine.

i had the belltech kit and after going through both types of belltech shocks in 4 months due to leaks and being worn out yes i said both types in 4 months. those shocks are absolute junk. i switched to bilsteins front and rear and havent had an issue in over a year. ride was good and i installed the illicit brackets and it seemed to bottom out in the rear more than it did without the brackets so i put the air lift bags in and problem solved. the brackets are a pain to install. if your not going 100 mph or racing then i think you would be fine without the brackets but ill say it did eliminate wheel hop when spinning. a good investment for the rear shocks would be the QA1'S

from my note 8

So I think my only concern now is that the RCSB springs might be too soft/give too much drop? I have no clue how to do know what is going to happen and if it will align, but I can't imagine that the front or rear coils are honestly that much different.

I had the belltech drop with street performance shocks and never had an issue. I never bottomed out. I do remember though not being able to get the front end aligned correctly but never really had an issue with it so i didnt do anything about it. Had it for a about a year before i switched to ihc lowering kit.

True once i installed brackets im hitting bump stop cup. Was just going to cut the rear bump stops cups off and hope it goes away.

Ok so I ended up buying a McGaughys 2/4 today at a hell of a deal. It also came with helpers bags for the rear. I plan to order an adjustable panhard bar as well.

The only thing it is missing is bumpstops and I am going to order a new hardware kit just to be safe.

Do I need new front bumpstops or do I need rear bumpstops? I am trying to get all my ducks in a row before I drop it off at the shop. I already know I need to order the f150 sway bar links for the front and eventually rear shocks. Is there anything else I am missing?

Yes you will need new front and rear bumpstops. Also I highly recommend Illicit Customs No Cut rear control arm brackets. They correct all the rear geomatry that gets thrown off after lowering the truck.

I believe the helwig sway bar is a must or else you get the death wobble.

hi y'all I got a 2011 hemi 5.7 sport. the truck came lower, the front tires are not straight the dealer installed new tires 275 all around and the front wheels are the same, I dont know if I should take it to get aligned. I get on the highway 85 mph without a problem.

Well I finally got everything ordered and ended up putting a McGaughys 2/4 with helpers on my truck. I ended up cutting 1 coil out of the rear and adding an adjustable panhard bar. I love how it rides and love the stance. In some of the pictures there is no air in the helpers so it looks a little low in the rear. I am still trying to figure out how much air I want to keep in the helpers and such.

Well it has been a minute since I posted so here are the newest pictures (excuse how dirty it is, the wheels got put on yesterday and it has rained non stop)

Ended up going with Illicit brackets to recenter the rear axle, SRT 22" wheels with 305/45R22 tires. I still have to debadge, and I have black headlights to be swapped in.
