I live less than a city block away from my school. I drive. lol. And AF you were right, I average 10 mpg when making that trip when it is too cold to ride bike/walk. I want to get a motor cycle so I don't have to walk or ride my bike anymore.

My opinion, I know diesel prices are getting stupid again, but if you get a 3/4 ton CTD and chip it up, perfereably bullydog, along with a good exhaust system then you might be able to avg about 16 in the city... 20-22 hwy. Correct me if I'm wrong someone

no you're right. there is a system that banks makes that increases your mpg up to 5 more mpg in city and on hway

on the new CTD's and any diesel for that matter just removing the exhaust earns you back 5 mpg! all the emissions laws they have now clog up the exhaust so bad its insane

Here's my 2 cents. Stock truck should get you 11 - 17 mpg driven easy. The hemi can live on 87 if not leaned on, but has the protential to break pistons if driven hard. 93 gives the best fuel mileage. Tuners give better mileage and performance, but will result in driving harder because it's fun. Larger wider tires will hurt mileage/performance, in some cases a lot. Gears are a "must have" mod as Dodge engineers clearly got it wrong and will improve mileage while city driving and will mostly break even at highway speeds 65-70mph. The hemi simply likes to cruise at 2100-2400 rpm. Two miles is perfect for a bicycle commute. Long commutes driving anything is both expensive and a PIA. Good luck..
