Need to wrap my head around infinity premium sound

Hello members,

Does someone care to explain how this setup works. in the harness there are only RR RL speaker wires going to amp. i loose fade control with new head unit and not much sound comes out of my rear speakers. Shed some light on my situation please!

Basically the factory setup is the head unit sends an audio signal to the amp, which then does all the fancy stuff like splitting the signal into all the individual channels, amplifying the signal, high/low pass filtering and stuff. Then sends the modified signal out to the speakers.
