Need your guys opinion

In the market for a used truck found a 2015 cc at a decent price. My concerns are its high mileage. Though its a 2015 it wasnt purchased until late in the yr .It has 50K mileage in a yr and a half period and can tell it was used for towing. The previous owner did 3 oil changes in that period but i cannot find any other service records. My questiion is would you stay away from this truck? Also its been in the. north east all its short life, thanks

Wow, 3 oil changes? He may have done some himself, but I wouldn't bank on it. Rust may be a problem as well in the future. If he didn't maintain the engine, I doubt he maintained much else

I would just pass on that one. If he owned it for around 8 months 3 oil changes would make sense from a time standpoint but that mileage should have required more.

There are a lot of used trucks out there. Might as well shop around more.

Unless "decent price" means "enough to make up for the risk that the vehicle was neglected for 18 months and 50k miles" I'd probably say - no thanks.

If it's 4x4...The $25k price is at the very HIGH END of dealer retail on the lot...You will need to examine the brakes and tires...If they both need replacement, then that could add upwards of $1500.00 to your cost...

If both brakes & tires are liveable for atleast 12 more months...I would be a buyer @ $23,500 O.T.D. (All Tx & Fees Included)...I would try and squeeze them for some warrenty other that the remaining powertrain...Remember 2015 was the last year for the 5/100,000 limit....So your good for a few more years and 50k mi...If it were a 2016 you would only have 10k mi left on the powertrain....

that would have to be mostly why miles. 3 oil changes is the minimum providing he used a good syn oil and filter. for the right price i wouldn't completely r/o this truck.

Have your dealers price match. If you have to drive to another state... a few hundred miles is worth a few grand IMO.
