After 5 yrs engineering school: My son finally graduated & everything he accumulated during those 5 yrs is in that trailer.

Otherwise this one of 3 trailers that haul the wife’s bosses $100K sand rail cars.

Big shout out to Marion Blair on YouTube for making this service easy & mess free.

Did the official first OCI this morning on The JUDGE
Out: T6 5W-40 & factory Mopar filter.
In: Schaeffers 9000 5W-40 w/ Fleetguard LF16035 Stratapore filter
2240 miles
The LF9028 ES filter in the pic is saved for after the 10K mile mark. It is a different animal (2 filters in one).

What a difference a quality oil makes In smoothness & sound.

This could easily be a 1yr - 2yr OCI depending on the OLM.

Thanks again Marion!

Tech Tip for the 6.7L: these 2 tools were a lifesaver or was for me when trying to unloosen and remove the oil filter through the fender well.

Only thing is you have to use a oil filter that has a fluted bottom some filters have the round / smooth bottom which this tool will not work.

After a 341 mile adventure to get the daughter settled in to her new home @ hopefully her last year of college & then on to PT School I chose to drain the FF Rearend gear oil!

This trip did not involve any towing just steady calm interstate driving 70-80mph.

The FF oil was practically just a grey (slightly gritty) thin base oil. The fill plug had a good pinch of metallic shavings attached to it! This is only at the 2600 mile mark. So glad I did this service today!

Next will be around the 20K mile mark.
I still had 1/2qt of RL 75W-140 in my pump left over from my 2014 Ram.
2qts RL 75W-90
1 1/2qts RL 75W-140

C41E678F-9534-4D1D-9605-E19B60EA7FF1.jpeg

Next service I figure will be around the 20,000 mile mark by that time I should be able to purchase a aluminum rearend cover and install it.

Nothing major: Just want to slowly begin upgrading these dull/muddy sounding Alpine imitation (Mopar) speakers.

I’m only looking for decent crisp/clear highs & mids!
The head unit very rarely goes past 15.

Replaced the corner dash speakers with these.

D9A06DD9-00D0-4715-88A4-6013D186A04B.jpeg

I might just remove the center dash speaker. (Still thinking)!
The center speaker seems to way overpower the 2 corners.
I am just not a fan of buying another pair of 3020s and only using one speaker.

I’m also contemplating replacement of the rear door 6x9 speakers with JBL 6x9 2 ways.

JBL Club 6x9s are installed.
The JBL Club soundstage is in place & after some fine tuning with fade / equalizer as well as turning the surround sound mode off. (Turning this off seems to cancel out the center dash speaker).

The JUDGE interior is now filled with Clear/Clean impressive Sirius/XM Sound. (Octane-Hair Nation-Classic Rewind) & awaiting the Holiday Christmas Music!

JBL representative I chatted with said: Allow about 5 hrs of break-in.
The 8” stock sub is next.

Really will make those long towing adventures enjoyable.
But this is one owner whom really likes to listen to Music!
Not Loud & Obnoxious- But Crystal Clear & Clean! A decent amount of Bass is always a plus.

I love me some Boston & Bad Company!
Also like me some Girls Girls Girls & Wild Side with Motley Crue!
SteelHeart - Slaughter - Firehouse - Kix - Def Leppard always seemed to get the get the ladies dancing in the truck!

That truck always smelt so good for many days after.

My son (Kole) has kinda converted me to a part time (Pop Evil) listener.

I really do need to get that Sub replacement done!

Never been much of a country fan.
Even though I do enjoy some Travis Tritt every now & then.

Yup same here! I'm not 18 anymore so I don't need to rattle windows or blast music with the windows open. I just want a nice, clean sounding system.

I like those music choices as well:rocking:

It's not nothing exciting, but a note worthy mod.
Since I have plans on keeping her for many years past pay off.

I figured a 8.4" head unit screen protector was in order.
I just installed a new Zagg on my new iPhone & I honestly feel it was a great $8 investment so why not protect my 8.4" as well.

IMG_20190212_120623.jpg

New PML 68RFE pan & 11.5" AAM cover just might be next in the near future.

That’s a beautiful rig you’ve got there... That color just POPS!

Ever thought of leveling it?

Actually I did for a few minutes, until I read more then a handful of 2500 owners whom did and regret doing it due to having to replace ball joints more then I personally want too.

I'm staying with the stock ride height as well as OEM wheels & tire size.
Mainly due to what I bought her to do - Tow our new 5th Wheel.
(Only wish is/was the stock OEM wheels were 20x10 instead of 20X9) Little wider tires with less sidewall bulge would be a huge plus!

My only major mod planned is possibly a full emissions delete after she is 100% paid off!

Edit: Believe me! I would really like to give her a HQ level kit & a set of lower profile / wider tires. I like the wider (bull dog) look!
I just don't feel I NEED that look nor do feel it would be a smart decision or choice when towing a 15K lb / $65k coach.

Just me & my common sense thinking out loud.
Plus by Not doing it I will save myself a lot of $$$. Save that $$$ for when the Emission Delete bill gets put in my hand.

All 100% valid... Don’t blame you a bit. My truck has upgraded front springs and bilsteins to do the level, and I wouldn’t have done it any other way. I thought about a super wide set of wheels and tires, and it just didn’t fit what I was doing with it. Went with a Rebel setup, and might actually put a set of spacers, but that’s about it.

Drained 1 gallon of the purple OAT OEM coolant!
Refilled with 1 gallon Fleetguard ES OAT coolant!

Will drain again in the spring.

Edit:
Reason being: To begin swapping over to a (actual) HD ELC OAT coolant that was actually created for a Diesel Engine. = Best overall quality protection.

Last piece of the Cheap imitation Alpine replacement puzzle.
Though it's not a major quality replacement - after a few hours of good break-in there is a very noticeable difference in sound quality.

The cheesy 8" paper sub will be replaced with this popular 8" Pioneer.
Not a game changer but a difference maker.

IMG_20190225_123901_kindlephoto-433966229.jpg

Front door speakers are still the (Mid Range) 6x9 alpine imitations.
They possibly will remain since I can't find a correct ohm replacement.

Now: Rear end cover & Transmission pan are next!

Where did you find this coolant? Do you think this would be ok in a gasser?

Yes Corey it says it can be used in gas applications as well...

https://www.cumminsfiltration.com/organicacidtechnology

I can PM you where I ordered from!
You might be able to find cheaper.
No Local Truck stops or Truck supply stores stock any FG coolant.

1 fill will last my Ram a lifetime.

Exact same OAT technology as the OEM purple & Valvoline OAT dexcool clone.

OK finally had days off again.
The pioneer replacement sub is in total time took about a half hour for removal and install.

I did use the metra 72-6514 harness along with a set of Radio Shack (gold plated) connectors.

1D8FDDA2-2725-48D9-8781-803069D07B17.jpeg

Now for at least 5-10 hrs of break in time.
Then I can roll the volume up to at least 15. (Just advice I was given)

Still to this day - I wish these dang trucks come with a Good Quality CD player!

Edit:
I will say - I'm not a huge fan of the location of the little sub.
The fold out & seat are directly on top of the little fella blocking basically all its performance.
Only wished FCA had placed this setup behind the back seat facing forward.

It is what it is!
