The most logical replacement/modification so far today! Deleted the ridiculous 68RFE thermal by-pass valve block & replaced with a straight through in/out block!

So ATF is flowing to & from cooler all the time when the Ram is running!

Temps have dropped from 165-169*F to 114-118*F!
The first stage of Salvation for my 68RFE!

Temps now! After a 20 min drive @70mph!

At this time this is a 40-50*F drop in ATF temp compared to the OEM by-pass block valve.
With the OEM block valve in place normal unloaded temps averaged 160-165*F.

Edit:
The ideal fluid temperature is under 175 degrees, but as fluid ages it starts to break down and lose its capacity to cool down the transmission.
This is when transmission overheating occurs.
At 220 degrees, varnish forms. At 240 degrees, seals start to harden & the ATF truly begins to break down!

This might not be the case with a handful of the Very High Quality (100% - Actual - True) Synthetic ATF of today.

Now: I am thinking of adding some type of front grill block during the winter months to help with warm up of the ATF - To be able at least to keep 120-125*F temps.
One thing for sure - The Schaeffers All-Trans will never be stressed with high Temps!

Just another validation: That since day one I made the right choices when it comes to Oil Brand & Diesel Fuel additive.
I even go so far as only adding Box DEF w/the newest BOD I can find.

Once again: Most/Some focus more & are more concerned with what Brand of Cigarettes - ***** - Alcohol they ingest.

I tend to go another direction & Focus more on what Brand of oil & Diesel fuel additive I run/pour into my $65K New Ram!
Truth is I will end up spending way less!

Finally got to the Rearend: Took 2 cans of CRC Brake Kleen to get all the Black sediment off of the Gear set.
Notice all this Black Sediment attached still to the OEM cover.
Before I cleaned the gear set - it was coated in the same nasty black film.

Had to loosen the sway bar from both sides to make room - but install was easy & Fast (2 hours) & 4 SOL beers!

New PML cover - Refilled with Triax (Synergy Max) 75W-90 -4Qts!

Thanks to the Lube Locker gasket - I had Zero leaks!

Special shout out to Genos - For great pricing & Fast Service!

This coming spring I will install a PML pan on her 68RFE - Then in the near future install a PML cover on her front differential.

I did the same thing when I got mine. Cleared out the garage. I've only got about an inch and a half between my front bumper and the garage door.

Perfect time to beef up & add a block heater cord - along with a Noco plug in adapter in the front bumper.
Temps today were 65*F.

Also purchased a high quality timer - which will detect temps below freezing @ close the circuit & begin the warming process! Also can be programmed to come on @ any certain time & go off @ any certain time - to save $$$$ on electricity!

3 hr road trip to see daughter!
This shows how effective the ATS Delete Thermal by-pass ATF block is.

Unloaded - 34-37*F ambient temp - Feels Like temp was showing 27*F

I know this is the wrong question and the wrong thread...
Can I put a premium ctd cluster in a gas engine truck and use the def gauge for the boost guage?
