My Son and I are most likely going tomorrow to buy a 16 Tradesman 3500 Dually, Cummins auto. Crew Cab 4x4

It has the trailer set up as in Puck system, controller and so forth.

we plan on starting a haul business right away. We are new to this and honestly scared but excited.
We have a company to haul for with their trailers, and figure we can always do some campers when we need to. I hope to retire in about a year but he is gonna use for his primary income. Then I hope to as well.

Any input would be great from those who do this. Also any issues with these trucks. We like the Cummins engines so hoping for good use on that.

Welcome. I would recommend checking out and maybe post in the Heavy Duty or towing section.

I used to have a neighbor who did this with his heavy duty trucks. He cycled through about 1 a year as he put so many miles on them. Said the key to keeping on the road was preventative maintenance.

I would recommend the cummins forum. Google that and you should find it. Mostly gas trucks on this website. A few diesels but not many.

I'm in the hot shot business and I drive a 2012 Lonestar 3500. God himself couldn't have built a more perfect truck for this industry. That being said, no matter what anyone tells you, DO NOT delete your truck. As a commercial vehicle you will be held to a higher set of expectations, as well as much more frequent inspections. Deleting emissions controls on a post-2007 diesel is very illegal. Enjoy your truck, you definitely made the right choice.
