Hi all, brand new to this forum. Wife's 2012 1500 developed misfire on #1 cylinder. Exhaust valve lifter failed and took out cam lobe. After looking at all options decided the best was to replace engine with reman from Accurate Engines. After installation took truck out and after 50 miles code P0521 came on. Changed oil pressure sensor and cleared code and has not come back on. Now on short run of 25 miles engine starts and sounds fine, oil pressure is good until engine warms up then when stopped at light or stop sign at idle oil gauge drops to 0 and low oil indicator on dash comes on. Don't want to destroy a brand new engine. The breakin oil is Valvoline 5w20 conventional. Accurate Engines or more specifically the salesman at Accurate Engines who wrote the sale said he preferred Dino oil. Change intervals are 500 miles first change then every 3000 miles or 3 months. After reading forum I now see how critical oil is to these new improved Hemi's. I had a 2003 5.7 2500 that went 225,000 and only needed new intake gaskets and got sold only because I had to start pulling a very heavy trailer. I also had a 2005 5.7 2500 work truck that went over 110,000 without any problems. This truck was at 88,000 and is babied when the lifter failed. Anyhow any and all advice comments will be greatly appreciated from the tremendous intellects on this forum. Thank you.

I installed the pickup with a new o-ring and torqued the 1 bolt and 1 nut to spec. The oil pump is new. I think I need to install a oil pressure gauge. Thank you for your advice.

Need to get a gauge on it to see for sure, but if it’s fine when it’s cold then drops when it’s warm I doubt it’s a gauge/electrical issue.

I am following in your footsteps, similar issues (P0303) on a 2010, same gen 5.7L. Have done all of the easy and normal troubleshooting and have eliminated the coil pack, fuel injector and the myriad of simple issues.

Now suspecting a lifter; but i just don't have time to do it myself, so trying to find a hemi specialist here in ATL. just out of curiosity was the cost and install of a re-manufactured engine not much more than the cam and lifters?

Sorry I cant offer any help or suggestions but I am with tach_tech, gotta have a mechanical gauge to really know what is going on...

Cost so far is about $4400. Reman engine was about $3600. I bought new water pump, hoses, radiator, thermostat, belt, pulleys and exhaust manifold studs. Add oil pressure sensor and fluids it all adds up quick. I got a bid of $8200 for a reputable mechanic using a Jasper reman. I'm retired and I like turning wrenches so I did it myself. I work out of a old horse barn that I put a lift into.
