After new years I will be buying a 99 3500 4x4 5.9 V8 w/ NV4500 and 40k miles from the local fire department.

The truck is selling for cheap and my plan is to cummins swap it with a 12 valve and a 6 speed.

I have been looking for something to do with the 5.9V8 and nv4500. There is a Jeep Cherokee with a 5.2 that smokes and slipping tranny for sale and was wondering if a 5.9 and nv4500 will fit in it or would it be better to find a 1500/2500 QC 4x4 to swap the drive train into?

Thanks for any ideas on what I will need to do to get this done. I will likely buy a parts truck for the 12 Valve swap and buy the nv5600 and t case separate.

Swapping it into a truck would be a LOT easier.

If swapping the 5.9 V8 would be easiest into a truck....

If I get a 5.2 auto 4x4 QC will I need more than my stock ecm to make it work?
