Newbie post: Thanks before I get my truck!

Hi all first timer here, in fact after 60 years I will be a first time Ram owner!
I am so excited, pickup first thing tomorrow morning.

No question her yet, just want to thank the authors of the many posts & replies I have been reading.
They made me well informed on what to look for and choices I should make for my needs.
After all I have been a Ford guy all my life. Yea hold the yelling down.
I still have an f150 & retired an 85 4.9 after 20 years of work, what a great truck that was.


It took weeks of reading & searching for the right truck.
Well I get my 2004 1500 SLT 5.7 tomorrow and cannot wait to drive it home or maybe just keep driving.
Overall in very nice condition with only minor issues to get it where it should be.
I am hoping it serves me as well as my 85 a.k.a. Black Beauty.
Plan on adding running boards, window vents & new wheels down the road oh and a ladder rack.
Yes it is going to work.

I will post pictures in the near future once I figure out how to do that?

Rob WELCOME to the group! If you have any question's just ask Me at 64 picked up my 2015 RAM 1500 Quad Cab last year ! My first RAM and had a F150 several years ago.. Love my FORDS Love Chevy's as well But when I starting looking at trucks again the RAM won .. I use mine like a car and very little work lol

I retired about 1 1/2 years ago, My RAM was a Gift to me from me lol So far loving my RAM You guys get hit with the Nor Easter ?? We just got heavy winds in Bangor

Just got some heavy winds with light snow, we lucked out this time around and my wife wants to move to Maine!
Just about 1 1/2 to 2hrs north of here got 12-18".
Glad we did not, I have a roof freshly done in underlayment waiting to be shingled.
That snow would have been up there for a month-

Glad we were missed as I am ready for spring I moved up here 1990 from Ct. got out of the rat race..And better place to raise the kids If and when you guys move up here you will like it FYI I got a chuckle form your handle ! Santana was the first live band I ever saw ! Saw them in SC in 75 ,, Man I'm old lol

Congratz on your new truck viva! Love the handle also. Im a young 61,Carlos is my 2nd favorite guitar player behind Eric Clapton. Traded my 06 lariat with 225k for the Ram...best decision ever!!

About 2 weeks in and absolute love this truck. It is not without some issues.
Multi-switch needs replaced & I just started dressing it up a bit, even though it is a work truck as well. Got new Head & Tail lights, window visors, etc...
Going to get a SC 3815 as well.

I am pounded with work and cannot post much but when I get time and figure out how to post pictures I surely will.
One thing I did was switch to M1, should have gotten the high mileage, because it leaks and there was not a drop of anything leaking prior. maybe run a few weeks to see if it quits but not hopeful.

Rob Glad your liking your new to you RAM It is a Great truck . It is not uncommon with a older motor to leak when going to Synthetic oil.When you switch to the high mileage version that should help! Looking forward to Pics of your new rig
