Oil choice!!!

Alright guys I was just woundering what everyone runs oil wise all around!

I use Royal Purple 5W-20 syn motor oil, and RP syn gear oil for rear. I love this oil and I know its expensive, but working at a parts store has its perks

IN my second gen I use Castrol GTX 10W30 Conventional with a Napa Gold Filter. For ATF+4 I just get it from work, since I work for an oil company and we buy it in bulk from Ashland (Valvoline), bottle it into out bottles and label it with our label or Advance Auto Labels. Gear oil I also get from work, Amalie GL-5 80W90 since I dont tow with my truck.

ya i know napa and valvoline is from the same company. I work at o'reillys idk where we get ours, I never really think about it.. I also use a wix filter

My oil company was in talks with O'Reileys to draw up a packaging contract agreement to blend and package O'Relieys labeled oils...I guess nothing much came of it or they realized we were also doing 1/3 of Advance Auto's oil too and backed out.

i like to catch the advance or vatozone specials 5 quarts and a filter for 30.00. then sweet talk the sale guy into a discount on the extra i need for my truck and tahoe. speaking of, it is time. walmart has decent prices on the mobil1 5qt jugs

use gtx 10w30. mds turned off, so i was told it was ok to run thicker oil. if i do decided to change back to syn, what do i have to do?

pull the oil plug let it drain remove the oil filter replace with new filter and put oil plug back in fill and enjoy... i dont know im just ******* with ya

lol, use to that by now. just heard that if you switch your suppose to change to synthetic, run like 1000 miles, drain and refill to get all the dino oil out.

i dont know, one of the gear heads will chime in. dont they make a blend? like a transition? if you have to run it for 1000 and change it you could throw some seafoam up in there too, maybe?

Do just that...change the oil and filter...no need to do anything else with todays synthetics.

maybe, castrol's blend is syntec. i was just use to using gtx with changing the oil in all my dads vehicles.
