Well I just found out I have a dilemma with my 06 1500. The bottom is rusted, it's a northern truck, the front suspension is rusted to the point of being seized so I can't align it. Well my thoughts are to fix it myself, but then I run into another issue with the "what ifs", since it's getting older and it use to be a northern truck. It just passed 100k miles and my thought is maybe time for an upgrade. Sad since I've only had it for about a year.
I'm stationed in Oklahoma so this would be a good place to find a truck that's not rusted. Thinking of upgrading to a 2010 or newer 2500 with the Hemi. Just looking for opinions. Thanks

Replacing all the suspension components will be WAY cheaper than a new truck. But if you HATE IFS that much, than do it. But you might be able to put $2k-3k into an upgrade for the IFS and have a great ride.

Do you plan on wheeling it a ton? If not IFS isn't that bad.

Well decided that I won't go for a 2500, just don't need it right now.
I've been thinking about a 2010 and up, Ram 1500 or a Sierra 1500. I think I could find a nice truck with some options on it.

I've come to like GMC. I like the new style grille and hood, makes the truck look bigger compared to Ram 1500. I'm sure I can find one of those that are fully loaded. Seen a '12 Laramie Big Horn, that one was fully loaded

I have driven and worked on every model truck out there except the new Tundra's and NOTHING beats the RAM. I went from truck to truck until I bought my Ram and now I will be Mopar for life. I was just in a 2014 Laramie today and the thought went through my head about how this is the perfect truck and sooo far above anything else on the road. Please do yourself a favor and stick with Ram.

It will always be cheaper to fix an older truck then to buy a new one...learned that lesson the hard way a few times
