JMHO, but I think 3G look the best-particularly the latter "cat eye" 06+. Don't like the "shark nose" profile of 4G front ends.

1) 3G

2) 1G

3) 4G

4) 2G

I love the 4th gen look for sure. I think it's the cleanest body out there.

However, I think the 3rd gen is a close second, and I LOVE the body line in the bedside on the 3rd gen.

4th gen 1st - then 2nd gen

A nice lifted 99-01 Sport 4x4 looks great.

Likewise, the 4th gens look great lifted as well and the interior is top notch.

I've always liked the 02-05 3rd Gens since they came out and got the chance to buy mine a couple years ago, so I jumped on it. In my humble opinion, I like the exteriors of them the best of all the years.

Interior is a completely different story, the 4th Gens are so much nicer and more comfortable to ride in than my truck. When I get into my buddy's Longhorn with the natural leather seats, it's like heaven.

For me, the 4th gen followed by the 2nd gen, then 1st gen and a distant 10th place would be the goofy bug-eyed look of the 3rd gen...

As much as I'd LOVE to have a SRT Viper Ram, if I bought one of the ones I'm looking at, I'd have to strip the body off it and retro a 2nd gen or a 4th gen body on to it before I could drive it...

Do you mean, lets call it 3.5 Gen? I do not think the true 3rd Gens do not have a bug-eyed look:

2002.5-2005 (3rd Gen):

2006+ (call it 3.5 Gen):

I have a 3 Gen, and I REALLY like the look:

Chrome headlights on a black truck have that bug eye look. I love my third gen. Best of both worlds in regards to not "too" computer controlled, but more modern than the 2nd gen.

If we're talking lifted trucks, I prefer 1st gen, then third, then second, then forth.

For Lowered trucks it goes, third gen, then forth, then second l, lastly first.

Stock trucks, I think 4th gen wins based on body lines, not insanely huge wheel wells compared to stock wheels, and front end looks.

That right there!!!!!! I think there is way too much computer controlled stuff on these trucks now days, we need to go back to when the only time you got a light on the dash or any kind of error is when something critical is about to or is failing

I always loved the third gen Rams myself, 03-05. I found they looked the "meanest" and had the best body lines. And then of course the first gen rams!

3rd gen hands down, I had my choice of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th when I bought and have always loved the body lines of the 3rd. The most masculine to me with the bulging fender wells and integrated headlights into the bumper and the way the grille lifts with the hood, classic! "CAUTION, beat to hell photo being inserted"
