So my part finally arrived from Rockauto, Reman part. Swapped the old for the new, filled the trans fluid back 7qt. Castro A+4 synthetic. Still stuck in 4th. Question now is, is it the computer or the wiring between the ecu/solenoid?

If I buy a 2nd hand ecu from ebay, is it direct plug and play, or does it need to be programmed.
Any HELP would be appreciated, as I really miss driving my truck.

What did you replace? The solenoid pack?

Either wiring or the PCM now, unless you’re good with electrical diagrams and have access to a decent scan tool it’s gong to be hard for you to diagnose properly.

I dont, lol. Thats the problem. :(

Do you know if ecu's are plug and play, or additional programming will be needed?

Programming will be needed with any PCM install wether it’s new or used.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I called the stealership and that's basically what their response was. On top of the $140 to diagnose charge. Oh my....

I’m a teach at a FCA dealership and we charge from 0.5hr to 1.0hr labour for programming depending on year/model. Some are quick, some take awhile.

The most that would have to be done is, program the vin, update software(if needed), learn the throttle and program the PIN number.

Updating the software takes the most time.

Update: over the weekend, I warmed the truck up for 20 minutes thinking maybe that'll get the new fluid circulating. I put the truck in reverse, no CEL. Put it in drive, no CEL. And could manually shift from 1st to 5th. I said wtf? And drove it around the block. It shifted like normal, didn't throw a CEL, but if I hook up my scan tool, it still reads P0750 solenoid A. I will be dropping 're truck off on Halloween to a shop down the road and see what he has to say about this. Will update then.

Before i dropped the truck off it shifted and drove regular. I let the truck warm up at idle dor 20 minutes. I guess getting the trans fluid warm cleared the code. Dropped off the truck yesterday, got it back today. The tech told me he didn't pull any codes. He test drove the truck and scanned it even while driving. I guess he has an expensive scan tool. It drove like how it should. I guess replacing the kick down solenoid cured the problem.

Idk if the truck needed to be idled, warmed up for the new solenoid to register with the computer.

Update: drove 6 miles to my kids school, on the way home, truck down shifted I to 4th. No CEL bit ran in limp mode all the way home. Got home, turned the truck off and restarted it. It could than shift I. And out of gear manually. Trans sounds like it does have the buzzing sound it gets when in limp mode. Kind of annoying problem, with the holidays lurking and all.

Finally got it worked out. Had to replace the kick down solenoid with a brand new OEM part. The mechanic said sometimes reman'd units aren't 100% functionable. He installed the OEM part and did the relearn procedure on it. So far it runs like normal. OEM part was $500, labor, tax and other parts was $600. So $1100. He gave me the option of doing the labor myslef since i did it before with the reman'd part, bit i was so over it i ok'd him to do it, plus we been getting a lot of rain and the truck doesn't fit in the garage.

I seen a place online that sells pcm programmed to Vin for $195, so is option if pcm ever fails. I am dealing with the same code, but mine also showed a evac code at same time, so thinking mine may be pcm related... Dunno yet.

Yeah, so far looks to be a PCM issue with mine also. Also got an EGR code, and abnormal voltage spikes from my alternator.
