A little while ago, I noticed that the bottom part of my differential looked “wet”. I got under the truck to check it out (wasn’t dripping, seemed more dirty and greasy than anything else) and I also noticed another part looked a little wet (gas tank??)
Does anyone know what would cause this, or what needs to be done. If anything ?902ef4166b7be56f2fcb1b762b4dca4d.jpg

Your diff cover is seeping very very slowly, it’s not a major, immediate problem but will need fixing at some point, very easy. The gas tank, it could be from leak detection pump or the seal on top of tank, I would check further on that to make sure your not leaking gas though.

Or your pinion seal is leaking and throwing fluid up on the tank

Could be that. That’ll throw fluid a good distance at the RPM it’s spinning.

Probably worst case scenario as well since you have to pull the diff/pinion seal. No fun.

OP - i would clean everything off with brake cleaner and throw a little UV dye in the fluid to determine where it is seeping from.
