Interesting...

I've seen the term thrown around here & there but know nothing about "plasti dipping".

Does it work on Aluminum? I have an '02 Explorer and my RAM I'd like to make black like that.

No idea about the aluminum. But i will tell you its worth trying, even if u mess up just let it dry and peel it right off. I did some reading and watched a few videos on youtube. Ima be doin my bumpers, grill and emblems next. It cost me around 5 bucks a can and i used 2 and a half cans. I also bought the plasti dip glossifer that i have yet to put on in order to make em shine

Wheels look good!

Aluminum, steel, carbon fiber, doesn't matter, plastidip will stick. Even plastic (no adhesion promoter required). That's one of the MANY reasons why I love the stuff!

Looks good, I have considered doing this to my stock 20s on my 08. Can't decide if I want to powder coat or plasti dip em yet.

Soooo maybe it's a stupid question, but where are you getting your cans at?

I searched and looks like Ace Hardware has them. And the rims looks AWESOME on your truck. My bumper looks like crap from fading paint, so I'm seriously considering dipping my rear bumper.

Awesome! I will be looking into this over the weekend. I do have a question for the plasti dip pros.

I got my truck about a week ago, and it's a 2003. There are a few rust spots, which are small'ish and the bumper looks like crap.

So would the plasti dip work on these two things? Would I need to sand either before spraying it? Or would you advise doing something else?

Plasti dip could work color wont be an exact match. If your gonna do anything with it on your own id sand it painting over the top of it isnt gonna make the rust go away youll wanna smooth out any rough edges. Plenty of videos around to look into it. If you want a closer match you can get touch up paint from your local dodge dealer. Id save the plasti dip for larger things like an entire bumper or rims. Not something like patching up rust spots

I just need some clarification... lol

Plasti "dip" is not really "dipping" it's SPRAYING, correct?

I am seriously considering doing this to my rims but I didn't want to take the tires off to "dip" them.

But.. it's spray, right? :D

Yes. It's plastic in a can that you use exactly like spray paint.
