I have a 2000 Dodge Ram and we lost the key and the dealership gave us a bad one twice and I don't have the money to get a lock smith out here and I saw if you drill it out it will work but I don't want to ruin the whole steering column please help

un screw the column surround, un screw the blinker assembly, they you can get to all the screws for the ignition. then pull it out, and you will be able to take the cylinder apart, and you can remove the tumblers, and still use any dodge key to start it.

I'd guess a number 2 flathead.
Or you can do it like Beauduke said, which looks far less suspicious.
