I just got an opt7 last week.. Love it!! The length was a little off and had to remove the plastic grommit for spare tire key. $90 for the one i got but it adds a great look to the truck

I take it you didn’t need that adapter module thingy? Or does your truck even have a backup camera, park sensors or a trailer brake controller?

I do but I’ve had my little utility trailer plugged into my truck with no issues other than having to manually turn the rear park assist off for the trailer itself.

I just heard back from putco and they are sending out new light bar that is updated and my dealer said it even has a new sku..we will see?I have heard this before

Yeah I saw that it said it was mandatory for the Pherds.

I don’t think anybody around here who has gotten a light bar has said anything about having issues with their cameras and such since installing one of these.

OPT7 is good stuff cheap mine has enured 3 New England winters with zero fading or hint of an issue , with a Curt 5 pin adapter installation was a breeze .

Gone thru 3 Putco blades in a year, now number 4 when installed failed immediately. My shop is talking to PUTCO now to try and resolve.....

I've had a Putco Blade on my truck for about 1 1/2 years now with no problems. Now watch, something's going to happen, thanks! LOl.

Biggest tip I can give on installation especially if using the press on adhesives is prep the painted surface good , IE I did the prep 3 times I use alcohol and a metal/ paint prep.

I've got the Opt-7 60led tailgate bar and it's been on 2 Rams now. Went through 2 harsh northeast winters and even when I got rear ended it was undamaged. I swear by the Opt-7 led tailgate bars. Either I got a super rare invincible one or they are all rock solid and extremely well made.

Great packaging too. Inside a plastic tube then inside a hard cardboard tube with a piece of wood taped to the side for extra strength.

Ive seen install videos for installation and the all run the back up wire to the tail light. I think I'm going to attach mine to my railer harness.

I think the reason they instruct us to run that back up light wire to the bulb in the tail light is because we don’t have a backup light circuit in the pigtail plug.... There’s a 12-volt circuit that comes off the battery to run accessories on s trailer but I don’t think there’s on for backup lights.

I don’t know, since there’s so many different configurations for 7-prong trailer plugs out there, maybe we do have a reverse light circuit, I have no idea. I’m not near either one of my two pickups to go look but I would say that if we do have a backup circuit in our plugs, use it. Who knows - when I put that Anzo light bar on my old truck long time ago, I probably didn’t even have to pull the taillight out and tap into the wire up there but I definitely most certainly will be checking into that this weekend when I go to install my new lightbar on my new truck.

I was talking about the white wire in the truck’s wiring. I have no idea what color the backup wire is for the light bar.
