Re coding ignition switch to match door keys

Bought a 96 Ram a week ago and someone replaced the ignition switch at some point. The door key no longer matches the ignition key. How do i code the tumbler on the column to match the door key?

A few years ago I had my ignition switch go out on my stratus. I got another cylinder and it gives you instructions to rekey it with existing key. Who ever did it last didn't read that part of the instructions.

I think you could just go to a locksmith and they can do it. Not sure which would be cheaper.
