so this is kind of pre gen 1 but I've been researching for a bit and have come up with the following plan.

My frame off restoration includes using a 1973 dodge 8 3/4 rear end. since I'm completely tearing it down and rebuilding it, I was looking to add disc brakes. the rebuild plan includes a Detroit truetrac, 3.55 or 3.73.

now, other early mopar (cuda, challenger, etc) using the 8 3/4 have the same rear disc conversion kit part numbers. I'm assuming it should work with the truck's 8 3/4 rear end as I believe there was no major difference besides spring perches.

anyone have any knowledge on the topic of the 8 3/4 rear ends? any input appreciated.

Do you have car or truck bolt pattern?

If you have the smaller 5x4.5" pattern, maybe look at 02-07 Jeep Liberty brakes (8.25" dodge diff). Seems dodge stuck with the same D-shaped backing plate flange from the drums into the discs.

the old trucks have 5 x 4.5 so it would work for bolt diameter. will have to check that out, thanks. the only wild card would be the offset. will be tearing down the rear end soon will be able to get more accurate measurements soon
