Just heard about this recall a couple of days ago and it hasn't been well publicised. 1.8 million rams with column or floor shifters can jump out of park, dial shifters not included.

Just heard about this myself. Not sure what years are involved. My 11 sport with the floor shifter never had an issue.

Probably like most recalls, 99.9% have never had an issue, it's that .1% that screws everything up.

Nice. I have the dial shifter. Not affected.

I had just heard about it on TV and googled it.

Thanks. I googled it. Looks like a majority will be the 2500 and up trucks. Some 1500’s of course. I’ll wait and see I guess. Never had a problem with my 2011.

This is where you find the official NHTSA recalls. I don't see anything on this particular complaint, but there are a couple interesting ones on the 1500s that I hadn't heard of. If it's not on there, it's not a recall. It may be under investigation or relegated to a TSB for dealers to take on a case-by-case.

I searched the complaints and didn't find anything like that for the lever-shifted trucks. However, I did find 214 complains for the hockey-pucked trucks. Below is the official open investigation into those complaints.

I think what causes alot of confusion is that alot of the recalls are determined by build date or build location. I guess the only real answer is if you get a recall notice in the mail that you're specific vehicle has been recalled. If you are second owner would you still be notified by mail, or would it be up to you to figure it out?

I have a 2012 Ram and did receive a notice. Had to the dealer 2 times and they did not have parts to fix the problem.

Any info on the U53 recall from October 1st 2018, Occupant Restraint Control Module? What is this? Sounds dangerous to restrained occupants.

It's listed on my Mopar page as my vehicle being effected and supposedly parts are available, but it's classified as a campaign, not a recall. Other than that I can't find out any more info.
