anyone use Cquartz ceramic? what did you use on top of that for a little extra shine?
I'd definitely give revitalize a shot, just grab a cheap 16oz bottle or whatever. It's made for any ceramic/glass/carbon coating. Mines glass and definitely worked nicely and added some good shine

Thanks. I'll try it. My truck is dirty like a pig from the snow/slush we got last week. It needs a bath

I was lucky!!! I had Friday off, so I didn't have to go anywhere.
We got about 6-8 inches of snow Thursday night into Friday. God, I really, really do despise winter! lol

We've only had a few inches, and it's been too warm for it to stick. It just turns into slush, and makes a mess of my truck

Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra Ceramic Coating on both vehicles. Coated paint, windows, wheels, bumpers and everything on one truck. Coated everything but windows on the other. It's a dual layer 9 year coating. I waterless wash now with ECH2O from CarPro. Everything is super deep, crystal clear, and wet looking shine. 20181207_202745.jpg 20181119_140556.jpg 20181119_140556.jpg

How in the heck do guys get paint this shiny. It took 4 stage polish, jet seal and a coat of wax to get a decent reflection for me. Just plain impressive.

It took me three days lol. Firstly, I clean off the paint with clay bar after hand washing. Then the most important and lengthy step was rubbing compound to remove swirls from the clear coat. I also taped off areas of plastic I did not want to scuff with the compound. After cutting the clear coat I sealed it. The sealer takes 24 hours to cure. The next afternoon I waxed it. Then I applied PS bead maker to seal the wax. Bead maker also takes 24 hours to cure. When it's ll said and done it looks like glass.

Just like Jrod said. My vehicles took me a solid 40+ hours of straight work, each, to get them to look the way they do

Insane...

It’s a lot of work but it’s satisfying. The work will last all spring summer and fall as long as I hand wash it, and keep up with the top coat. The work gradually gets undone in the winter with salty roads and automatic car washes. Rinse and repeat process as soon as temps get to about 45ish in my area.

I would ceramic coat if I lived in an area where I could hand wash all year. Unfortunately salt and automatic car washes will eventually give the same negative results. I would probably cry if I dropped that kind of money and watched it get ruined.

I cringe thinking about spending 14 hrs on the truck again, just to go to the local archery club where the driveway is gravel and mud. My 35s are kickin **** all down the side of the truck.

same here...

when i get my running boards back on that will help but the truck looks fine from 10 feet when you get up close looks like crap.. after ll that time claybarring and ceramic coating and handwashing as well as detailing with quick detailer and quick wax every chance i get and still doesnt look so great...

im real glad i stuck with the 1.5" wheel spacers instead of 2" it would only make it worse

I believe you can apply a topcoat on ceramic. If so, that should definitely help. It goes on super easy. Just spray, wipe dry, and let cure 2-3 times a year. I personally like PS Bead Maker, but there are others out there.
